Night stand is a great height and style. Replaced all the knobs to silver and it looks like pieces from Ethan Allen at a third of their price. Finish is pretty but the construction is good. Finish is excellent, drawers open and close smoothly with sufficient room for socks, belts, etc. We have a good sized bedroom with canopy bed and these work perfectly for us. I love this nightstand. It is very roomy, and the drawers have wonderful glides, so they open very easily. This furniture is wonderfully made, I have the complete bedroom set. In in the top drawer of each nightstand there are 4 plugs and tray divided into 4 sections to plug in your personal electronics such as your phone, PDA etc. On each side of the nightstand toward the top is a small silver medallion. When you touch it, a nightlight comes on underneath the night stand. It is a three way switch, you keep touching it until you get the brightness you like so there is no need to get out of bed. When you touch it the fourth time the light goes out. Its a very nice feature. I do want to add that in the picture this furniture looks like it is a white white and it is not. It is more on the off white side. I bought it to use with a very white shabby chic headboard that I have and love.
