This food dehydrator's sleek, contemporary design features 500 watts of drying power, and generates maximum speed and quality for dehydrating fruits, vegetables, beef jerky, and venison jerky. The Patented Converga-Flow drying system forces air down the exterior pressurized chamber (not through the trays). The hot air is forced horizontally across each individual tray, converging on the core for fast, even and nutritious drying. Helps dry food in hours, not days like ordinary food dehydrators. The top mounted fan eliminates the worry of liquids dripping into the the heating chamber!

Does a great job, but...... Product Review I have used my Nesco/American Harvester Food Dehydrator and had very good results on a number of foods. I only wish it had an on/off switch rather than having to plug in the dehydrator every time it is used and having to pull the plug out of the wall socket when the job is completed. Service Review No problem in this area. |

I'm enjoying my Nesco/American Harvest F I bought the American Harvest Food Dehydrator because of my dog Zoe. The poor little doggie is having some problems with allergic reactions and is on a very restricted diet. I first made treats from her canned food in my oven, but the entire house smelled for at least 24 hours. I now make the treats in the dehydrator after setting it up in the garage. I leave the door closed so that animals won't be tempted, and when the treats are ready, I open the door and turn on a small fan which eliminates the odor very quickly. After meeting Zoe's needs, I started dehydrating fruit for myself...now that's a smell I don't mind. I love the fruit and it's better for me than my usual snacks! Try it, you'll like it, but one word of caution. Five of the smaller trays are not enough. Go ahead and order the max trays for the unit you purchase. I thought they would hold more. I have a small kitchen with little counter space, so a larger dehydrator is not for me! I'm going to purchase several more regular trays and extra Clean-A-Screen tray inserts for small items. |

Easy to use, works great I've always wanted to buy a food dehydrator but hesitated till I found this one at such a great price. We've made apples, oranges, and raisins so far and are dying to try out the jerky. Everything has turned out great. The kids love to help with the whole process. |

Works well for me I bought this specifically to make jerky and have made it only once so far, but it came out great. It was done a lot faster than I thought it would be, so be careful how long you plan to leave it (I originally thought I would let the jerky dry overnight, but it only took about 3 or 4 hours). |
