Worm factory 360 green color from Madison on 05/31/2013
have purchased this item about a month ago. So far, it's been working very well. It is easy to set up. There is an instructional booklet which comes with the com poster which is a good introduction to the process. It gives detailed info on the initial set up, a little biology on worms, and troubleshooting tips. I also love the cheat sheet that is right on the cover - it details which foods are good and which aren't for the worms. I just added a second level and hope to have my first batch of compost in another 2 months, One thing I would do differently is first order the composer, read the booklet and prepare bedding put in some food and let it stand a few days while you wait for your worms.

Perfect for raising worms, minor concerns about side-effects from Boston, MA on 08/11/2015 – Verified Buyer
The wife wanted to raise worms; I had reservations at first, but she needed a hobby, and what could possibly go wrong? What a sucker I was. I've had this worm bin for about two months now. We set it up in the laundry closet and it's been perfect for what it's supposed to be used for; the worms are thriving and they're composting exactly as the instructions said they would, but I'm starting to have some other concerns only tangentially related to the bin. It started with my wife saving a lot more trash; it was, at first, explained to me that the worms needed to eat, and that there were certain things that we disposed of, a la a standard compost bin, that the 'wormies', as she began calling them with the usual lilt of a young woman enamored with an animal to which they were administering care, would happily consume and turn into composted material. It began with just one level of worms -- you see, the bin allows you to put multiple levels onto it based on your composting and worm-raising needs. I think it was after the eighth bag of rotten 'food' stored in our freezer that I began asking questions. Where was all of this food coming from? It's only the two of us and a cat -- most of the trash I created was from a variety of discarded aluminum and glass containers from the various alcoholic beverages I regularly consume, and most of the cooking I tended to do was vegetables and meat, storing my leftovers in the fridge for future lunches. Once I brought up the issue to her, she explained that there simply weren't enough worms to eat all of the food, and that she'd recently added the second level to the worm bin, so the trash issue would soon be resolved. I relented. Later that week, I caught her in the bathroom fishing for nail clippings and hair in our trash bin -- she explained to me that the protein in the hair and other organic matter would help the worms flourish, and that I shouldn't be alarmed. After all, it was good for the wormies. I laid down the law when I caught her clipping my nails in my sleep one evening. She recoiled, telling me that all she wanted was for the worms to have a nutritious meal, explaining that since she'd added the third level to the worm bin, she was worried that there wouldn't be enough food for them. Again I relented, thinking that the worm bin had done a fantastic job of keeping the otherwise earthy, dirty smell it emitted when it was open contained within the securely-closed lid of the bin. Last week, I caught her pulling fur off of the cat's hairbrush, then going back and brushing him again, and pulling the fur off of that. I reasoned that it was fairly useful way to dispose of the cat's sheddings, but I was beginning to get concerned -- he didn't need to be groomed THAT much. In fact, he didn't even seem to be enjoying it at this point. I asked my wife why she was grooming the cat so much, and she revealed that though the conveniently-placed drain at the bottom of the bin was doing a great job of removing excess moisture from the worm environment, the cat fur would be able to do double-duty and absorb more water while also being a snack for the worms. Again, I relented. She added the fourth and final level to the bin last night. Pros: Raises worms, keeps smell securely contained within bin, convenient drain for moisture Cons: Cat has gone mysteriously missing

360 degree wirn factiry, green color from fremont, CA on 07/07/2015 – Verified Buyer
I order this product about one and half years ago but did not really started to use it until half year later. At first, it was not successful since I did not offer them the appropriate food. I then ordered 2000 worms from Uncle Jim. I feed them with our kitchen scraps. Now I have a tray of black gold every couple weeks. I am happy to see that no kitchen scrap goes to landfill and instead, turns to good things for our plant. I also started to see the benefit that I need to spend less and less money to buy the fertilizer for my plants because I can harvest the black gold from the factory. Pros: good looking, easy to clean. Cons: hope that the plastic things that help to stack up be longer.

Great product! from Milton, WI on 07/23/2014 – Verified Buyer
Very happy with my purchase. Using it every other day or so, putting coffee grounds, vegetable scraps and newspaper in it, and the redworms are thriving! The product is of very good quality construction and design. Great benefits are that there is almost no smell, and the worm castings will be a fantastic compost for my garden.

worm factory 360 composter is awesome! from San Francisco on 09/22/2014
This composted is easy to use, comes with precise instructions and a quick video that spells out how to use it even better. I am getting already ready to harvest my first tray of compost and am so excited! Tray also doesn't take up a lot of room and doesn't smell at all. I highly recommend using it. You will never have to throw away food scraps again!

I Am Composting With Worms! from Floral City, FL on 05/07/2012 – Verified Buyer
My Worm Factory 360 arrived about a week ago. It doesn't come with worms, so I had to go online and find a place to purchase worms. It was very easy to set up. They include an instruction book and a video to watch. The video made it much easier for me to understand. I also watched several videos on you tube about worm composting. Pretty cool product. I'm very happy. I set mine up in my basement, because the weather here is hot and I was afraid the temperature would be too high for the worms. But from the different videos and articles I've found on the internet, people actually set these up in their kitchens. I'm liking it and I'm sure my garden is going to love it in time.

Working as designed from Chicago on 09/29/2014 – Verified Buyer
This is a well thought out product and we have our first batch of organic waste composting in our basement (yes, doesn't smell funky!). One star is removed due to the somewhat rickety design but overall this product delivers on its promise. Start composting today and reduce your waste output!

My Worms love their hotel from Portland, OR on 05/04/2015 – Verified Buyer
This is an efficient way to compost worms in a small space. You can take an individual bin out when the compost is finished. Pros: You can also get "Worm Tea" out of the spigot at the bottom to water your plants with.

Easier than I thought from Newnan, GA on 02/08/2012
I was nervous about composting with worms, but have been surprised at how little time it takes. I've had the Worm Factory for a short time and haven't had any problem with smells. I have it on my small porch and no one even notices it. I started with 1 lb of worms but might recommend 2 lbs if you have lots of food waste. I suppose I have an average amount for a two-person household. I generally feed the worms once or twice a week and sometimes turn on the hose nozzle to the Mist setting to add moisture. I would guess that I spend 10 - 15 minutes per week. Of course the initial set-up took a bit longer and harvesting the castings from the bottom tray will also take a little more time. Overall a fun way to compost!
