NE Kids School House Twin Princess Low Loft Bed with Slide

The frame itself and slats that go under the bed seem well constructed, as is the slide. However the tent ripped and tore about the tower as we tried to slowly and easily fit the poles into place. So that was an immediate downer. For $600+ when we bought it on sale, it was worth the product beneath the tent. I'll be making my own stronger fabric tent or using plywood to paint and make a fun play area beneath. The tent easily tore when a toddler knee would catch the lower fabric and tear it from the velcro straps sewn to hold it on. The tower was fun, but doesn't connect to the bed and obnoxious to assemble with the tent fabric which is poor quality and too small to fit the poles without tearing at the top, which is not too noticable. The children kept moving the tower, since it doesn't attack to the bed and sometimes the wind from the fan would knock it over and the poles and plastic pieces holding them together broke. I just threw it away since I wasn't going to bother asking for replacement pieces to try to get a torn, too small tent over it. I would recommend ziptying it to the ladder area if you buy this bed. Just don't expect the tent or tower to last. The loft bed and slide are wonderful though and we placed bookcases at the ends to make a cozy nooklibrary. The children love it. I think if we were not military, the frame and slide are great and just construct your own version with wood of a tower that screws into the frame and make your own walls with wood or better fabric.

I purchased this bed from a local retailer for $560. Prior to assembly, I was counting the bed pieces and hardware as instructed and realized I was missing a few wood dowels and screws. Normally I would have made big deal about this but I was so excited to get my daughter's bed up, that i just went to my local hardware store and purchased the extra hardware which cost a total of $8. Assembly was fairly easy BUT the instructions just show pictures. There are no words or tips when its needed. They are needed because a lot of pieces have an almost identical piece. I thought one of the pieces were identical and put the whole bed together. I realized the mattress slats were on the wrong way by time I was installing the ladder and front rail. It was terribly frustrating to unscrew the entire bed in order to fix that. Overall, it is a beautiful big white princess bed that my daughter loves. She's only 2 so the bed is a little intimidating to her but she absolutely loves it. If I had to do it all over again I would!
