I ordered the SKB Contoured Tenor Sax case to replace an older, somewhat worn Cannonball case. I need road worthy case and have past positive experience with SKB (one of their cases protected my alto sax from a fall off a motorcycle) and decided to give their new model 450 tenor case a try. All around it's a solid road worthy case. The latches and handle have been upgraded and are sturdier and have a more "industrial strength" feel than those on the older model. The interior of the case offers space for the sax neck and another compartment that can hold my mouthpiece and a box of reeds. It also features an an accessory pocket on the outside of the lid. This is the least impressive feature of the case as the pocket separated from the case almost immediately after unpacking it. A bit of glue will put it right but it's a bit on the chincy side for a company like SKB. Overall it's a good solid sax case. The real test will come on a couple of upcoming cross country flights where it will have to endure life in the cargo hold and the delicate hands of the baggage handlers. I'd like to see the case be even a little sturdier than it is, but with that comes more weight, which I wouldn't welcome much of. All in all, it's a very nice case inside and out. I've had the misfortune to witness airline baggage handlers at work on many occasions, and I worry that this case might not stand up to their considerable abuse -- especially when they start piling (throwing) things on top of my case. Time will tell. I plan to give it an airline test in the not so distant future. I'm pretty certain it will perform better than most any chipboard case. I've owned one before. Wasn't all that impressed. For everyday use, this case has been outstanding. Looks like it cost quite a bit more than I paid for it. Seems very well constructed. I checked out a local music store before I bought this case, and they wanted more for a chipboard case than I paid for this one. Heavens knows what they'd want for one like this. This guitar case is my first purchase from Wayfair and I'm completely satisfied with the transaction as a whole. After extensive search online Wayfair had the best price for what I wanted. This case is well constructed, sturdy and light. I have a similar case which is much heavier (plywood construction) but as I'm using this primarily for storage, not serious gigging, I wanted something lighter. Of course if you're in a band and traveling with heavy expensive equipment/instruments you might want to consider a more solid construction case. But if you're looking for something to protect your nice jumbo acoustic and taking it with you (instead of having it thrown around by someone else) this will do the job."..."  Read more

This case will protect your guitar quite well. Although this FENDER brand case was made by SKB, it is not quite as good as the SKB brand version (1SKB-66). Just place the two cases side by side & you will see what I mean. Your guitar will fit a little more snugly in the SKB brand case. Fender brand is good but SKB brand is better. If you love the Fender brand, I would recommend the Fender brand case for you."..."  Read more
