Stylish, well made, great price

Would not hesitate to recommend this platform bed. (The headboard has to be purchased as a separate item which we did). I had looked at length for this style and settled on the Modus line. It came quickly, perfect condition. Very good looking bed. Comments: A little darker color than espresso but it's fine once the bed is dressed up with duvet etc. Looks and feels like leather. Reason for 4 stars not five: 4 major bolts were missing. We purchased them from the store but took an hour out to do this. Secondly, assembling the wooden spines across the frame... Instructions were completely incorrect. Actually, impossible to attach them as described. They said to first place the 13 rubber 'sleeves' along each side and down the center, then slot in the sets of wooden spines. The spines are flexedbowed under tension so you can't do it this way. Instead. make sure you fit the outside edge rubber sleeves into the bed frame, then join 2 spines at a time into each center rubber sleeve. Then with a rubber hammer, hammer the central sleeve into the metal central frame. This works perfectly and maintains the tension that the bowed spines require. Sounds complicated but it took 15 mins once we figured this out. Don't be put off by this process. I found this was the only platform bed that came with 2 sets of 13 wooden spines for really good mattress support. Basically each side of the bed has its own set of bowed spines as you can see in the photos. The flexing in the wood adds to the comfort. Most other platform beds seemed to have very few wooden slats and reviewers said they had to go out and buy more. The platform is very comfortable for our 10 mattress. We love it and also bought a matching Modus headboard. Wayfair has really great products and I buy frequently from them with confidence that I'll not be disappointed.
It will do, for now.

For the price, it's a'ok. It took me quite a while putting it together by myself. One of the leg screws are loose/ doesn't fit correctly so it's a bit wobbly. However, it has not given out in the past year that I've had it. I might just take the legs off all together for a lower platform feel. The instructions weren't the best. It was easier for me to take the rubber sleeves and snap it along the sides of the bed. Then I took the remainig rubber sleeves and placed them on one end of each wooden slat. Next I took one wooden slat at a time, inserting the unsleaved end of the wooden slat into the connected side sleeve and finally bending the the slat to the middle beam and snapping that into place. I later ensured that all the sleeves were securely snapped into place along the side of the bed. This way was MUCH easier and made that part a breeze after almost giving up completely from attempting to follow the instructions. Also, unfortunately, the queen sized mattress I bought doesn't cover the entire bed so you can see the wooden plats underneath when the covers aren't hiding it. But overall, this is an attractive bed, especially for the price.
Only had one problem
Salina from bronx, NY – Verified Buyer
I bought this bed being that ive been sleeping with just a mattress on the floor. The fact that it is platform and doesnt require a boxspring was a plus right away. It got here pretty fast and both boxes at the same time so no waiting for me. I put it together pretty fast. My husband was at work while i did so. My sister helped a little mainly with balancing things. But over all assembly was pretty easy understndable and fast. The only problem i had with this be was the middle rail connecting to the headboard , one sode the screws wouldnt tighten bit after tightening the rest of the bolts around the middle rail was sturdey and we got all the planks in with ease. My three year old son took a liking to it and jumped on it for a while. No creeking or possible damage was done. A good nights rest was the end result. Oh also the intruction area where they ahow the invetory of parts is a bit off. Its mislettered and says there should be two middle support bars but it should be 1.

It's a very basic bed platform bed frame. It does sit very low to the ground, but I was looking for that, so it doesn't bother me. Combined with my eight inch mattress the whole bed itself actually sits a little higher than I was expecting. The faux leather on the frame is discreet but adds a nice subtle touch to it. The frame does seem pretty sturdy. I haven't done anything extremely strenuous or taxing on the bed but so far after having it for almost two weeks, I haven't heard any squeaking or excessive noise. The slats so far are providing adequate support for my mattress. Compared to the old bed frame I had, this one is a vast improvement. Much quieter and much sturdier. Assembly is definitely not suited for one person but is doable. Having a second person to assist would be advised. I'm definitely not a handy person at all and I found the instructions to be a little vague in some areas. Also, some parts, despite being provided were either mismatched, and therefore did fit where they should have, or as I discovered on the center support bar, a hole for one the plastic support pieces for the slats was missing. This forced me to leave two slats floating on the bar. I will say this took me awhile to put together. Also, the instructions don't say this, but the center support bar does need to have the side with all of the holes facing up, to help secure the slats into place. Also, getting the end of the slats into the plastic pieces provided proved to be a little troublesome as the mouths of the plastic pieces were very narrow or almost completely closed together. If you are not careful, you can splinter the slats trying to get them on. Overall, for the price I paid, I feel like this bed was bargain. I would definitely recommend that people at least consider it, especially if buying on a budget.
Good bed for the price

Overall I like this bed especially at this price I would say its closer to black than chocolate but I like the color and the look with the tufted headboard. A few things to note I have the full size and do have a gap of about an inch on the sides of the mattress, I measuered and its 56 inches from inside of side rail to the other side which accounts for the space. Also on the full size the slats are 3 12 to 3 34 inches apart not 2 12 as stated in the Q&A section, this may matter for folks with latex or memory foam mattress. Finally, I took Patricia's advise on how to install and it worked brilliantly and made installing the slats a snap.
Twin Size is unusable!!!
Fleurette from Surprise, AZ – Verified Buyer
So let me just say that I am more than a little annoyed by the fact that this bed frame is not up to size..or should I say oversized. I bought this bed for my 2 1/2 year old son who is looking for his big boy bed and after I got this frame installed, mattress purchased, and all ready to go for him to see and use after daycare I get something that is completely unusable. The frame is 40" 3/4 wide and 76 1/2" long which creates a huge gap both at the end of the bed and on the side. Basically its a 3" gap on the side and a 2" gap on the end which just can't be overcome. So while the frame is nice and of solid quality, the terrible dimensions on this should make it a no go for you...at least that is if you are in the market for a twin. Please don't let your toddler down like I did today and choose another frame.
Lovely bed that takes the weight
Jennifer from Iowa City, IA – Verified Buyer
My husband and I are larger people. It has always been hard for me to find bed frames that will hold up to my and my husband's weight together. This bed frame is rated at 800 lbs and it feels very solid. We've slept on it for just over a week now without any sense of weakness in the construction. I also like that since the platform slats are a separate unit, that if some break, we can simply replace them. A standard bed frame isn't as easy to repair. My one concern, and it could be the mattress we are using, is that there are 2-3 inch gaps from the mattress to the frame on all sides where you can see the slats. I'm hoping that the new mattress we are getting next month will cover that distance by being a higher quality.

I read all the reviews and was a little scared to order it anyway, but I did. It came in like three days! Two boxes and very light considering the size. Instructions were clear and simple to follow! With my trusty Dewalt cordless screwdriver, I had this Bad Boy together in 20 minutes! WOW! Just what I wanted! Great style but even more comfortable! A nice Euro top queen matress with a 3 inch memory foam topper and it's SNOOZEVILLE for us! LOVE IT!! Thanks!
Great Bed, Poor instructions
Katherine from North Sioux City, SD – Verified Buyer
First, read through all the instructions before you begin so you can figure out they miss a few important steps. 1. The middle support bar needs to have all the holes facing up. The diagram doesn't show this. 2. You should probably screw this into the footboard as well...instructions leave this step out. 3. Some of the holes for my side plastic pieces were about 12 inch off. I had to drill my own holes for a few of the pieces. 4. Before you put in the center plastic pieces to hold the slats in, you need to put the slats in both sides, then the center plastic piece, then pound the centers into the middle support bar. The slats don't bed to allow you to slide the slats into the center plastic pieces after pounded in. Other than that, this bed is great!
Good look pretty good quality
Kelsey from Arlington, VA – Verified Buyer
This bed is quite low to the ground if you don't use a very tall (12+) mattress or both mattress and box spring. But I personally really like its look. I managed to put this frame together by myself in about 50 minutes using the tools provided and some elbow grease. Getting the slats in was kind of difficult, but doable - not sure if I'll be able to take that section apart ever again though. The only aspect lacking in quality is that one of the inner metal support beams was pretty rusted out upon arrival. I did not realize the extent of this until putting in the slats above the rusted beam. I did not want to go through the trouble of attempting to disassemble bed and not having a bed frame, so I did not contact customer service for a replacement at the time. But it has been apprx. 3 months now and the bed is holding up splendidly.
