This is my first new stand mixer. The one I had before was from the '70's I bought at a yard sale. It worked but it was noisy, heavy and difficult to store. I only had one set of beaters for it so there was only so much I could do. My new Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer is so quiet and powerful, I couldn't believe how well it works. It's light weight and easy to store plus I love the sleek design. Suddenly I feel like a "grown-up" cook! ;D I also love the versatility of using it as a stand or hand mixer. I was a bit disappointed the stand mixer doesn't have a paddle attachment but after a few uses, I found I don't need it. I can use my beaters for 90% of what I make and then switch to the dough hooks for the bread. This is an affordable stand mixer perfect for the average home cook. I LOVE my new hand mixer! I have a stand mixer that belonged to my grandmother, and I don't often want to drag it out of the cupboard because it's so heavy - and it tends to smell like burning rubber if I'm using it for a long time. The hand mixer is so easy to use: it mixed my cake batter quickly and easily, is lightweight enough so that I can hold it while mixing, stands upright nicely in between mixing phases (alternating adding ingredients and such), and is a snap to clean. Tip: Turn it on before sticking it into whatever you're mixing. Even on the "1" setting, the beaters spin really quickly for about the first 2-3 seconds it's on. As long as I remember to turn it on, wait a couple of seconds and THEN stick it in my batter, everything is A-ok!"..."  Read more

well, tough stuff is what this little power house of a mixer will do! My old mixer would have died during cookie dough mix, but not this mixer. I have used all the attatchments and my gravy was lumpless! eggs were whisked great! I have used this mixer VERY much this past month. It has 4 ridges underneath for different size bowl rests. It is a little loud, but not enough to lessen rating. It's lo speed is lo and I am totally satisfied with this purchase! WAYFAIR earns its' name with wayyyy fair prices, quick ship."..."  Read more

This mixer is great! It does everything I need it to do - from cake frosting to whipped potatoes. If it weren't for the power cord, this review would have been a perfect 5. Unfortunately, since the power cord swivels easily (too easily?) it can make it hard to stand the mixer up on the counter."..."  Read more
