Be aware - stuck with defect!
Hook from Valhalla, NY
With any defective furniture it's always a headache. But for a piece requiring hours of assembly and days of getting my kids used to, it's extra painful to find out only a few weeks later that there's defect AND there's very little [...] the supplier is willing to do.The defect was on the inside of the side panel of the end that's a desk. The inside panel is not solid wood, instead it's a wood frame with a thin piece of finish glued on. I think that piece of finish was not treated well and it built enough tension to curve out - the glue couldn't hold it. So now I have a sharp corner with uneven edge poking next to where my children's legs are when they sit at the desk. Needless to mention that space is the younger one's favorite hiding spot. We have to barricade the area for their safety.[...] supplier gave instructions on how I (not them, not the store, but I) can fix the defect using wood glue. And if glue doesn't hold it (well it didn't, did it?) then I should put on some parts that I didn't even know the name of.After I explained to the representative that I have no qualification to perform such self-help, the next solution came a day later that the supplier suggested to ship me a replacement panel, which will require me to disaseemble the bed ("the bed will need to come down") to replace.I asked again and agin why can't someone come in to fix the bed and I was told that I can get a quote for hiring a local handyman. A service I called said that they won't make a visit for a job less than $200. [...]I am now stuck with either a defective product, or put in 5 hours to try to fix it myself and hope for the best. [...]feature wise, the bed is very good. I think defects in this type of furniture is probably non-avoidable[...]

Bought this loft bed for our 8 year old. He loves it and so do we. It is a good quality piece of furniture. It took a while to set up but wasnt hard.
