I had my initial concerns about spending this much on a fan (vs. the cheap box-store ones) but after holding it and feeling how study all of the pieces are, I am very comfortable that I made the right choice. As for performance, I'd like to see it move a little more air, but it does a decent job on high speed. I can't say much about reliability -- it's only been up about a month. It'll be interesting to see how it does after one of our extreme winters. I also can speak to the ease of installation. I had the guy who wired the porch install it for me.
