I use it for whelping my toy breed puppies... could be used for a SMALL pet that would not keep jumping trying to get out....I just used water filled gallon bottles to keep pet from jumping on it and moving it..... The cage is the perfect height and goes together easy. It is also very easy to change the shape to mix things up and give your pet something new each time they come out to play. Was this helpful? PezziePez from California	4.0 9/30/2011 Really nice playpen, but does need a top This playpen is very well built and strong for smaller rodents, such as hamsters. I'm not sure it's good for guinea pigs or rabbits, though, unless you secure it to the floor or ground, as it can move as the pet moves. It's perfect for my hamsters, but they all climbed out the top within seconds, so I needed to add a top to it. Was this helpful? Yes / No

A great help to contain newborn puppies and mother..I bought 2 so I use one at night and one in another location for daytime.
