Best cage for small animals hands down, and the last one you'll need. Only improvement suggested is to invest in a metal pan from "fish" equipment pro shops for the bottom level. Saves tons of aggravation. Single will house several small animals easily. Oh, it is bigger than you imagine. * Ours came really quickly and in great order... assembly wasn't bad- make sure you have a soft mallet and you'll be fine.

I really dig this cage. It is sturdy and substantial without being overwhelming. My rats love it and acclimated in minutes. They are more active than ever before- which would suggest good mental health. However, there is one fatal flaw. Yes, I mean the bottom pan's shallow, so shallow, inadequacy. You can rig it; or go to "big mouth fish" equipment and buy a metal insert pan for about thirty with shipping. I took the easy way out...Works great. All said, this is the best cage around and it's a great price point here. If you're wondering--- then yes, you should ;}

Ignore any review that says this cage is hard to set up. I did it myself in the garage in 20 minutes. Easy instructions, but you WILL need a rubber mallet to secure the pieces. Great quality cage used for two male rats. Only reason not five star is litter easily gets out of plastic pans. Very pleased with purchase.

I was so happy with this cage that I immediate purchased the add-on expansion to replace the cages for my other critters. The add-on allows you to divide the cage into two separate levels, and some creative use of corrugated plastic allowed me to divide the top level into two smaller town-houses for my hedgehog and rat that prefers the company of people to other rats. I may even get a second expansion soon. The perfect solution to combine all your small pets into one footprint.

I purchased this product for our two 5 week old Degus. I was looking for something that was chew proof, had storage, and was large enough for them to be happy as they grew bigger. This has impressed! Lexie and Cadie love their new home. It is large enough for them to play, hide, sleep and exercise. After some carefull thought we were able to fit a 12.5" running wheel for them, a hide-a-way, plenty of wood shelves to jump on, and they love it! I also loved that it is expandable if we wanted to add to our Degu family, as they are very social animals. The only two things that could be improved are side gards for cage. The bedding is constantly falling everywhere! We sweep two or three times a day.Also it would be an added bonus to have a smaller entrance cut out on one or both or the doors, just enough to fit a hand through so curious little critters do not escape. It would be handy when changing the food bowl or adding snack such as hay. That way you don't have to open one entire side door or both unless you were cleaning the cage. I love the storage underneath, and added plus for those who like everything in one place! Worth every penny spent!

Second cage I've received; the item box is the shipping box. Took some hits in shipping to Hawaii, but some rubber cement on the plastic pan and we're good to go. No fault on WayFair for the shipping process.

This cage is well made as far as the cage goes, but the plastic pan is extremely soft and poorly made. The side walls are to low to use a lose bedding and it doesn't fit snug so there is an inch between the edge. I have customized this by puting up side walls. It doesn't fix the inch give but it helps keep stuff in. Any kind litter will still fall out the doors I cover the litter with paper towels and change them daily. Im also going to have to customize the pan somehow. want last long if chewed.
