I believe the bottom platform should have been made larger to add more weight and balance it out better. He jumps from the floor to the top level and and challenges it to fall over. He loves loves the scratching posts and so far, after about a month of owning it, no damage nor have the balls fallen off. It serves four purposes a scratcher, playground, elevated space for watching out the window and multiple beds. My cat loves it so much, he even cries for us to open the door if he cant get into the room where the piece is located. This particular model also takes up much less floor space than many of the others without sacrificing function. The piece is very stylish and looks great in our home. However, the only drawback is that when my kitten gets up onto the very top bed portion, the whole tree wobbles. My kitten still took to it immediately though. Even though the tree wobbles when shes on the very top, I still like this product, and I know my kitten does too (at least shell get use out of it even if she never uses the top bed).
