First off, the product showed up really fast and had free shipping. I had to wait to put it together until I found a table it would fit on. I ended up purchasing the LACK coffee table from IKEA for $40, and it is the perfect size for this cage. Once I got the table and put it together I started to put the cage together. It wasn't hard, I'd just say time consuming. Probably much easier with 2 people. It seemed flimsy at first, but once you get it all together it's such a nice cage! And LARGE. It only took my piggie a few minutes to figure out the ramp, placing him on the main side and his food on the other side made him figure it out. Now he's constantly running back and forth. He does not solely use the one side where his food is for the bathroom, but I would say about 85 of the time. The first time I cleaned the cage I un-velcro-ed the whole thing and dumped it. It wasn't hard, but doing up the velcro again is tedious. So this time when I realized that only the small side needed to be changed I took a dust pan and just scooped it out. It was so much easier! Then on the other side I just spot scooped a little. Probably once a month or so I'll take it all apart and wash the bottom in the washer, but for weekly cleaning just scoop out the old bedding, so much easier! Overall, so, so happy with this purchase! And I'm sure my piggie is too :)
Suitable for the purpose

The wire panels are not as solid as I thought they might be, the top panel can fold into four sections - a nice feature - but the retaining clips are somewhat loose. Best feature is the 4" deep hand-washable canvas bottom which, although removeable, is a bit of a bother to do so. It does give my piggy lots of room to play and explore, is ample for the one, would be suitable for two. If you have cats (as I do), you should place it atop a suitably- sized coffee table, and/or reinforce it with 1/2" chicken wire, so as to keep them from getting their paws between the 1-1/4" spacing of the side bars. But if a piggy or a bun is your only pet, this item is quite suitable, and a fair value for the price.

I'm giving it 4 stars for it's price and size. I rescued 3 guineas in a tiny cage and had to buy a new one immediately. It's kind of flimsy, but we ziptied the panels to make them more secure. I didn't use the separater/ramp part. I paid $49 for it and that was 1/3 the price I saw anywhere else for the size. My pigs are loving it and it's big enough for 3. If you need something easily moved and super sturdy, this isn't for you. But if you have a permanent place for it, it's a great deal for the price.
Good as a back-up/addtl. space

We are using this cage as a back-up/addtl. space for our 2 piggies. It is not their main living space as it would be way too small for that. (Tip: We are using a very large hard plastic swimming pool as their main living space, that works great if you have lots of room in your house). If you must use this as a main cage, I strongly recommend using it with the expansion in order to give your little ones at least some room to run around. One thing to keep in mind when ordering this: The bottom is soft, so you need to have a hard surface to place this on. The cage is not very stable, it is rather floppy. I would not use this cage without bedding, we use towels+fleece as bedding, in the kitchen area we use care fresh bedding. Also we place a folded towel on the ramp as our guineas do not use it without that. It is easy to place water bottles, hayrack, etc. on the sides of this. Overall I think this is a good alternative to the regular store bought cages if you can't build one yourself. In that case two of these cages put together would make a good habitat for 2 guinea pigs. But please keep in mind that they still need lots of floor time to really run around and of course lots of love and responsible care.

We were getting 2 guinea pigs for our son and daughter. After much research we decided that the Habitat Plus was going to give our new pets the mist spacious environment to grow and have fun.
Great cage for multiple pigs!

After letting my guinea pigs stay in the cage for a while now I notice that they really love the extra space. The good thing about this cage is that you can get more than one and attach them. For two guinea pigs one cage is more than enough, if you have three you'd probably need two. The reason I subtracted a star is only because of the canvas bottom. The canvas bottom is the reason why the cage is so affordable, but at the same time it's pretty hard to stop them from chewing on it. Also since the bottom is canvas when finding a place for the cage to sit you'll have to make sure the surface is at least the size of the cage or greater. The cage is 4' by 2'. So if space isn't a huge issue and you don't mind a little chewing you can't beat the price and quality of this enclosure.

Read the reviews and was a little skeptical, but thought for the price and size, Ill give it a shot. Works perfectly for my needs. I have to Guinea Pigs and they love it, so much more space than the hard plastic bottom ones you can get from the pet store. I agree, feels flimsy but when you have it all together with the top latched on, its sturdier and works great. The cage part velcros onto the outside of the canvas bottom so when change time comes just lift it off and go Im assuming but have only had it for the day so havent tried. Big plus is I can use it outside in the summer without the canvas bottom so my piggies can feel the grass and soak up some rays without me buying a bigger fence right away.
Great price, quality, roomy, easy to clean.

We moved our guys over to this cage and we say our Guinea pigs running around leaping for joy.
Piggie Pig from Nashville, AR
I split the cage into a 2 square foot kitchen/potty area and a 6 square foot play/running area. My goodness my guinea pig Sienna loves it! In the kitchen area I have her food bowl and veggie ball and the area is lined with Carefresh. The 6 square foot area is her play area. The canvas stained badly and I had to clean it several times a day, so now I put down a folded piece of fabric like fleece or an old sheet and it works perfectly. She had such a small cage before so I decided to just search for cages not really thinking I would find something but then I came across this and I had to get it for her! It was VERY inexpensive and so big for the price. I love this cage and my pig does too. She runs around more and is so much happier. The ramp also provides a good amount of traction for her little feet so it is easy for her to run from one area to the other. WE BOTH LOVE IT!
Great guinea pig cage!

This is a wonderful cage for a great price! It is big enough for 2 guinea pigs, and it's very easy to clean. I put pet preference bedding in the smaller section, along with hay, and spot clean that part daily. Then in the bigger section, I have towels, with a layer of fleece on top, all I have to do there is sweep up the poops daily. Then I wash the fleece and towels once a week, I don't ever have to remove the bottom canvas! I highly recommend using fleece in the big part and bedding in the smaller section, it also keeps the fleece from getting hay on it. It is also so easy to get her out, because I don't use the wire top. I am also planning on getting another one to connect so they have even more room, the ramps make connecting habitats so easy! My guinea pigs love the cage, they enjoy resting on the fleece, or munching hay in the smaller section, this cage is just great, highly recommended, There isn't one thing to complain about!
