Suitable for the purpose

The wire panels are not as solid as I thought they might be, the top panel can fold into four sections - a nice feature - but the retaining clips are somewhat loose. Best feature is the 4" deep hand-washable canvas bottom which, although removeable, is a bit of a bother to do so. It does give my piggy lots of room to play and explore, is ample for the one, would be suitable for two. If you have cats (as I do), you should place it atop a suitably- sized coffee table, and/or reinforce it with 1/2" chicken wire, so as to keep them from getting their paws between the 1-1/4" spacing of the side bars. But if a piggy or a bun is your only pet, this item is quite suitable, and a fair value for the price.

First off, the product showed up really fast and had free shipping. I had to wait to put it together until I found a table it would fit on. I ended up purchasing the LACK coffee table from IKEA for $40, and it is the perfect size for this cage. Once I got the table and put it together I started to put the cage together. It wasn't hard, I'd just say time consuming. Probably much easier with 2 people. It seemed flimsy at first, but once you get it all together it's such a nice cage! And LARGE. It only took my piggie a few minutes to figure out the ramp, placing him on the main side and his food on the other side made him figure it out. Now he's constantly running back and forth. He does not solely use the one side where his food is for the bathroom, but I would say about 85 of the time. The first time I cleaned the cage I un-velcro-ed the whole thing and dumped it. It wasn't hard, but doing up the velcro again is tedious. So this time when I realized that only the small side needed to be changed I took a dust pan and just scooped it out. It was so much easier! Then on the other side I just spot scooped a little. Probably once a month or so I'll take it all apart and wash the bottom in the washer, but for weekly cleaning just scoop out the old bedding, so much easier! Overall, so, so happy with this purchase! And I'm sure my piggie is too :)

I'm giving it 4 stars for it's price and size. I rescued 3 guineas in a tiny cage and had to buy a new one immediately. It's kind of flimsy, but we ziptied the panels to make them more secure. I didn't use the separater/ramp part. I paid $49 for it and that was 1/3 the price I saw anywhere else for the size. My pigs are loving it and it's big enough for 3. If you need something easily moved and super sturdy, this isn't for you. But if you have a permanent place for it, it's a great deal for the price.

We were getting 2 guinea pigs for our son and daughter. After much research we decided that the Habitat Plus was going to give our new pets the mist spacious environment to grow and have fun. Advantages: 1 habitat is sufficient for 2 baby guineas to play together. We often join the 2 habitats together and they are able to have even more room to run. Cautions- The habitats are big and therefore you must have a space large enough to accommodate it adequately. If you have the space, we highly recommend the Guinea Pig Habitat Plus for happy healthy Guineas
Great cage for multiple pigs!

After letting my guinea pigs stay in the cage for a while now I notice that they really love the extra space. The good thing about this cage is that you can get more than one and attach them. For two guinea pigs one cage is more than enough, if you have three you'd probably need two. The reason I subtracted a star is only because of the canvas bottom. The canvas bottom is the reason why the cage is so affordable, but at the same time it's pretty hard to stop them from chewing on it. Also since the bottom is canvas when finding a place for the cage to sit you'll have to make sure the surface is at least the size of the cage or greater. The cage is 4' by 2'. So if space isn't a huge issue and you don't mind a little chewing you can't beat the price and quality of this enclosure.
Good as a back-up/addtl. space
Piggies are Wonderful! from Cincinnati, OH – Verified Buyer
We are using this cage as a back-up/addtl. space for our 2 piggies. It is not their main living space as it would be way too small for that. (Tip: We are using a very large hard plastic swimming pool as their main living space, that works great if you have lots of room in your house). If you must use this as a main cage, I strongly recommend using it with the expansion in order to give your little ones at least some room to run around. One thing to keep in mind when ordering this: The bottom is soft, so you need to have a hard surface to place this on. The cage is not very stable, it is rather floppy. I would not use this cage without bedding, we use towels+fleece as bedding, in the kitchen area we use care fresh bedding. Also we place a folded towel on the ramp as our guineas do not use it without that. It is easy to place water bottles, hayrack, etc. on the sides of this. Overall I think this is a good alternative to the regular store bought cages if you can't build one yourself. In that case two of these cages put together would make a good habitat for 2 guinea pigs. But please keep in mind that they still need lots of floor time to really run around and of course lots of love and responsible care.
Almost Perfect Alternative to C&C Cages
HeatherBee from Rogers, AR – Verified Buyer
I chose this as an alternative to the highly recommended C&C Cages (Cubes and Coroplast) that are "the best" for guinea pigs. I needed something large enough to meet the experts size minimums, yet affordable & budget friendly. This has been the perfect solution! It is close to the same size as a "2x3" C&C Cage at 8 square feet inside. The top is fantastic- It consists of 4 hinged panels so you can fold one over, have each end open, or fold it in half- very quick, easy & convenient! The cage has a door on each end as well as the "kitchen" divider. Each door has a unique bar that simply lifts up & down for opening & closing instead of the usual U shaped pressure closures that can be difficult & unreliable. The bottom of the cage is canvas with a sort of nylon/waterproof feel to it. The velcro straps to attach the bottom to the wire walls is sturdy, easy, and fits perfectly. The material is easy to clean although I always recommend using fleece or other lining on top of it simply for ease of cleaning! The only negative thing I don't like personally is that there isnt a wire or hard bottom included with the cage. It is only the canvas material so if you need to pick it up or move it with your things set up inside (or with piggies!) - The bottom will sag because there's no support. I personally used the cube grids to make a bottom which is then covered with my choice of bedding (fleece). I have it resting on a 3 tiered storage shelf that snaps together (you find these at hardware stores for garages etc) I separated it and used them next to eachother to form the perfect size stand. Overall, This is my perfect cage for my 2 guinea pigs (this is the 2 pig minimum size). You will not find a better price anywhere else online [...]. Also, if you are looking around & find one for less make sure it's not the open top version unless that's what you need :). (Review Written 8-9-11)

I have two male guinea pigs who love this cage. I first had them in a 3x2 C&C Cage but they love the divided area better. I have fleece in their play area and woodchip bedding in their kitchen area. The design of this cage makes it very easy to clean with just a rag and vinegar water solution! Very recommeneded!
Great price, quality, roomy, easy to clean.

We moved our guys over to this cage and we say our Guinea pigs running around leaping for joy. The move so freely and happily now:) They havnt figured out they are supposed to use the bathroom in the kitchen area. On the play side I put a Sham Wow down and then a towel on top of that, then just replace with a clean one every other day. Then i got a small dust pan a hand broom to clean the wood chips from the kitchen area once a week. We have way to many guinea pigs, 5 and one is pregnant for her 3rd time. Finding homes can be hard sometimes. But they love this cage:)
Perfect Cage for a Hedgehog
Veronica from TX – Verified Buyer
We are using this cage for our hedgehog. We needed a cage that had space for her to play but since hedgehog don't really climb, this one is perfect. Also it's the good height to accommodate her big wheel for exercise...Super easy to assemble. Loving it!
