Best Ferret Cage Ever!!!
Stephanie from yakima, WA – Verified Buyer
Once I purchased the ferret nation cage on line I believe it only took 4 days for it to arrive. When my fiance and I started putting the cage together we were finished within 45 minutes. Everything was easy to put together and to figure out where each piece went. And the whole time I kept waiting for something to go wrong, rather it be a piece missing or bent, but everything was there and it was packaged great. We've had the ferret cage for about a month now. The one thing I love most about the cage is the design of the front doors. Its two separate parts that open up (kinda like french doors) to the entire cage. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with tiny little doors! And I can honestly say I can't think of one thing wrong with this cage. It's a very sturdy cage, definitely built to last, and it's so easy to move around on its wheels. I have hard wood flooring so everything is pretty easy to move around BUT when I go over any bumps or rugs that I have lying around, the cage goes over it with no trouble. And my ferret loves her new cage. She uses the top shelf as her bathroom, which I love her for that because the top shelf can pop right off so all I have to do to clean her cage is spray off the shelf, dry it, then pop it back on. Simple, easy, and only takes 3 minutes. And there's plenty of room on the main shelf for her food bowl, water bottle, her turtle that she crawls through, a blanket to burrow in, and a nice little cave cat bed to sleep in. My ferret doesn't like the bedding from pet stores. I've tried several kinds and she just doesn't like it (that's why I have a blanket in her cage for her). Now if you're planning on using bedding or ferret litter (what ever you call it) I would suggest purchasing a tray with taller sides or adding something to the outside of the cage to go around the bottom tray because if you don't your ferret will have that litter or bedding stuff EVERYWHERE! But since I don't have to deal with ferret litter or bedding this cage is perfect for me and my ferret. If you're planning on getting this cage I say do it! You won't regret it and is definitely worth the money. I can see this cage lasting a long time.
The Best Cage for a Ferret!

This cage is the best cage money can buy for a ferret or other small animal. My favorite feature is the double doors on the front. Most other cages have only a small door that takes up only a fraction of the front side, making it nearly impossible to reach in and clean the cage without having to take it completely apart. The dual-opening doors make it quick and easy to take out the bottom tray and wipe everything down. Also, the modular nature is a huge plus. I bought this lower portion first, and was then able to purchase the add-on unit later on when I got new furry additions, without having to purchase an entirely new cage. The black hammertone finish is attractive and looks nice sitting in a room, unlike the multicolored plastic cages you see at the pet store. Being entirely made of metal, this cage will last a lifetime, and is well worth the investment.
Wonderful--except for the pan

I have tried so many different cages for various pets. This one happens to be my favorite of all time! There are so many ways it can be set up, and since the doors open all of the way, cleaning it is really easy. You can tell the company cared about the pets AND their owners. The only thing that gets in the way of cleaning a bit is the metal/plastic shelf, but it can be removed. That being said, assembling it was extremely difficult--some of the prongs just weren't welded on at the correct angle. The only thing I would say that's negative about this cage (once it's assembled) is that the pan just doesn't work well. It's so shallow. There are companies who will make replacement pans deeper for you if you find that you need one.
Excellent cage, Just hard to put together.

I love this cage. Wayfair was *fast* on the shipping of this cage. I purchased it on the 25th and then got it on the 29th of May. I have no complaints with Wayfair :) Putting it together was just a pain. It takes really two to put it together, because its really difficult to hold all the pieces together AND put another piece in the mix. And you might also need a hammer or a mallet hammer, due to the bent quality. And heaven forbid that you should even move the cage. If I move the cage, the bottom has to be supported, because it can fall apart if you hold it from the top. (But thats kinda a "no-duh". To be honest, the best cage from Midwest was their FN 140 lines. But if you're looking for quality, this is it. Its still awesomely made. Just wish it wasn't a "no-tool assembly". Also, to be warned, if you get the add on for 181, when you move the cage, pull on the bottom cage, not the top, because if you pull from the top, the cage will come crashing down on you. I recommend zipties to secure the top to the bottom so that doesn't happen to you.

I recently purchased this cage after considering many others. It is a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. It is plenty roomy for my female ferret, extremely easy to clean, which for me was a major concern as my ferret is still a baby, and these lovable little things require some patience for litter training. Easy access double doors swing wide and are ferret proof. It is large and does require a bit of space, but with the included casters, it's very easy to move around. Assembly was not difficult, and no tools were required, but go slowly and pay close attention to the illustrations when you put this together.

I have one female ferret in this cage and it's perfect! She has all the space she needs while I'm at work. Plus, the cage is well-made and sturdy. Worth the money spent.

It's a great product at a great price :D it only took about 45 min to put together even with my fuzzy helping...the only thing I would say is have a hammer and a block of wood (the wood is so you don't scratch it) to be able to fully insert the tabs...great product very solid
VERY Well Made

Beside being very well made and have amazing strength in it's construction - it's not bad to look at - I have 2 degus in the bottom and three in the top and they are extremely active and happy!

Great product. All of the reviews I read stated you needed two people to put it together. Although it is very difficult to get some of the pieces to fit together I was able to put it up alone. You do need a hammer. Overall I love the cage.
