We were looking for a meat slicer that would thinly slice meat and cheese. We did not want to spend a lot of money, so this fit the bill quite well. It is very easy to use, and it will slice your meat deli thin if you want. We found that it sliced beef brisket and ham in uniform slices with very little effort on my part. My only complaint really is that it is difficult to clean. You have to be very careful when taking the blade off, and there is no way to sanitize it. I would not recommend it at all for raw meat. I bought this slicer for my husband, who loves to cook, this Christmas and he LOVES it! Easy to use..easy to clean! He likes the idea of the tray that catches the meat as its sliced in a uniform slice. The old slicer we had took nearly an hour to clean (which I did ) and.......he (yes.....he!) cleaned in about 5 mins.! The slices are neat and clean....we used it with a pork roast tonight and it was perfect! We do more meat than bread, so Im anxious to try other meats as well. If anyone is wondering how good this is....all I can say is my hubby is very pleased and looking forward to utilizing this tool with future creations! Thanks...this is a great product!"..." I like all the expensive cold cuts like Soppressata, genoa, prosciutto to name a few that are very pricey when prepackaged. I can find those [...] in bulk at a fraction of the cost. I have also been able to slice frozen meat so I do not have to take out and defrost the whole thing (this take a little more work getting use to but woth the effort) It is working great for me. This is definitively the closest machine to a professional one, for home use. Cleaning is really not that difficult, the blade does not need to come off every time as long as you sanitize it. First I wipe all food or juice from it by rotating the blade by hand then I go over again with a solution of 50/50 peroxyde and water. I use that solution for all the elements that have been in contact with food."..." Read more
