Not red, standard quality
Edward from Tampa, FL– Verified Buyer
These are not red, but the standard darker burgundy or cranberry color. Perhaps a slight bit better backing than some others I have had, and a little different feel to the front. The tag does say they can be washed in cold water gentle cycle, and line dry.. Like past versions of this similar curtain; I found the need to do quick two minute cycles in the dryer delicate cycle, while damp to wet; pulling them out every couple minutes and holding them up to hang the wrinkles out, and make sure they only get warm, not hot. With this method and a wash; I got some of the bleeding color on the white back, along with some light lint; but the front looks perfect flat, and brushed. Do not walk away from the dryer, only two minute cycles on low.........and I think you can get them looking flat and clean on the front. Make sure your washer and dryer are lint free(wash some shirts or jeans first); and don't let the backing get "hot" warm only. Mine were still half wet when I put them up to dry the rest of the way. Warm them just enough to hang the wrinkles out; then let them hang dry in place. This way you avoid any line marks or stress points, from the drying process. They do have some smell, I think from the dye; but not too bad a smell for something new. Right over the bed, might be a problem, across the room I think will be ok in short order once dry. Remember, delicate cycle, cold water, mild detergent(maybe half the concentration) and only warm the wet curtains on delicate cycle. Heat for long, or if you forget them in the dryer; you will rapidly degrade the backing or outright ruin it immediately..I have found that the best way to store these lined drapes; is to make as few folds as possible, or roll them up as a short roll, and store on top of a longer shelf. Remember, your not drying them; just warming the wrinkles out, as they do come folded. Thats my advice anyway. Average thickness, and do seem to block the light pretty good.
Rich color and texture

These look very nice in the formal sitting room area of my house. The texture does make them a little stiff and hard to drape the way you want them (one end keeps flipping around to show the white backside), but overall they look great.
Rich and luxurious

I ordered 3 to revamp a bathroom as a shower curtain and to hide the plastic liner shower curtain that I was using. What an impact. They are beautiful. Nice weight and excellent feel. Not stiff like some velvets.

Really like these I bought two for our sliding door that anyone could clearly see in but these are perfect and blocks a lot of sunlight as well

I love, love, love these velvet curtain panels. I bought the black ones and they look gorgeous and very expensive in my black and white bedroom. I would highly recommend these beautiful panels!

Color is exactly as pictured on the website. They are very heavy and totally block out the light from the streetlamp right outside my bedroom window. Love 'em!

In red velvet to finish out our theater room. Hides all sign of the sun and looks just like a theater. A+!!
Great velvet curtain

Soft drape and feel, not plastic-y. Liner helps keep room dark when curtains are closed.

I purchased these curtains to block out light in our basement. They do a decent job!

Velvet cotton rod curtains are extremely stiff and very wrinkled. Probably won't hang out without great effort.
