Nice but use gently

A very attractive table, as I had my friend with me helping I did not have the access issue others had in the assembly as between the two of us, we could reach the areas to screw in the bolts easily. Very pretty piece, however probably not for the rough family type. If you drop a remote too hard the veneer is thin and will break showing the plywood underneath. The min wax furniture pen in espresso is an easy fix to these nicks, but if you have kids or don't show care, this is probably not the best choice for that reason. It's very dark brown, practically black, and the click top can only be lowered when you get up and face the opposing side. Not a pain to me, but some may not like getting up to close the table. Beautiful table, smaller size and not for rough play.

We liked the design of the table, but the photo made it look like actual wood. It's not. Good quality mica fake, but still a bit pricey for what ya get. Shows every single fingerprint, too. That's not always a problem, but ours sits next to the window and all the smears are well-lighted. Four stars tells you how very cool the design is, even with all these drawbacks.
A great product for the price!

I was looking for a convertible table and I found one! I read the reviews good/bad and found that the pros outweighed the cons. The table itself came pre-assembled (thankfully), all I had to do was screw in the legs. Let me forewarn you, you'll need someone with smaller hands to properly attach the screws...it wasn't an issue for me but it may be for some. I gave it a 4 instead of 5 because I did notice that fingerprints show up on it very easily (I purchased the espresso). As long as you don't mind wiping it down often or keeping it out of direct sunlight, you should be all set! Overall, I'm enjoying this purchase! Oh and the counterbalance on this is great, no accidental tipping.
Solid construction and elegant design

Very elegant looking and the coffee table feels very solid. Looks much more expensive than it is. Lift-top mechanism works well when opening and the top is still sturdy when it's up. Cons/improvements: Like many reviewers said it's a bit of a pain to install the legs since there really isn't much room to maneuver - took me about 45 min to do 4 legs alone, but would probably be much quicker with another person. Also, I got the espresso color and it does attract finger prints. The top can be lifted up to different levels, but once you hear that first click, you have to lift it up all the way before you can close it back up
Nice, table, awkward construction

We ordered this table for our living room, since we like to have meals in the living room once in a while. The table is sturdy and looks great. The table itself is 5-star, but I deducted one star for the awkward assembly. Although we only had to attach the legs, it took two of us and multiple scratches to get the legs in place. Since one hand has to be inside the table, under the table lift mechanics, I suggest that you have someone with small hands available to help with assembly. Anybody with large hands would have a very difficult time getting the legs in place.

I homeschool my daughter in our study, and we often like being comfy on the love seat while we work. This lift-top coffee table is the perfect solution! We can store books and supplies in the storage compartment, and have a sturdy desktop to use when it is not in coffee table mode. It was pretty easy for the two of us to attach the legs with the provided tools and hardware (thankfully, the lift-top hinge is pre-installed). The gear-style hinge makes a very audible clicking noise as you lift the desk top, and one hearty click when you lower it, but it is a smooth transition and functions beautifully. Plus it is really good-looking!
Fits just right in a condo and has all the features you would want!

We purchased the light brown table (not dark wood) and it is lovely. It was a little challenging to assemble (2 people required), but that hardly affects the design/functionality/quality of the piece. The lift top function is absolutely wonderful for home office use - especially in a condo! The storage is an added plus. We were looking for something like this for quite some time and finally found a sleek style and smaller size- a perfect fit for our L-shaped couch. Pros: style, size, finish, quality, functionality Cons: price (shipped to canada), assembly

This is a solid and sturdy table, looks nice too. A few notes below. -Even though the legs are easy to install, I always like to get instructions. They did not come with them. -The table in the resting position is quite low. I actually have it raised to the bottom position with the table open to have it at my regular desired height. -To move the table from each position requires more effort than I thought. Maybe it'll become easier over time. Overall, I'm quite happy with the table. Pros: Sturdy table, looks good. Cons: listed in review

Simple design that looks great with our modern decor. Like other reviewers said, the lift top does make a loud clicking sound when you open or shut it, but I'm okay with that, especially since I expected it. Only assembly is attaching the legs, which was fine for me because I have small hands, but it would be a tight fit for someone with large hands. I love it and am very happy with this purchase.
Great convertible table

This coffee table delivers. Perfect for snacks or dinners in front of movies or TV. Good value for the piece. Hinge thankfully assembled. Leg attachment is tricky (as other reviewers post). No equipment required except the hex wrench provided. I did use clear tape to attach the "female" ends to keep them from moving while I fished for the screw threads. Took a while. Use a pair of small hands to assist. Would buy another of these tables. Note: delivery box is heavy: 70+ lbs.
