From the beginning as a small furniture company in Ontario, Canada, Magnussen has evolved into a full line furniture resource with offices in Ontario, Canada; High Point, NC; Riverside, CA; and, the Far East. Their business is creating furniture designs of exceptional style, value and beauty. Magnussen produces these designs in partnership with their manufacturing partners around the world that meet exacting standards for superior quality at the best possible value.
The foundation of Magnussen's success is built on the company's core values of trust, honesty, and respect. Each of my teammates at Magnussen Home participates in the success of the company and is eager to ensure that their furniture products enrich the homes of customers with their exceptional style and workmanship.
An unrivaled value in home furnishings -- this is the commitment that they renew everyday to consumers who invite Magnussen Home into their lives. Magnussen sources their designs from only the finest home furnishings manufacturers, many in the Far East and Central America.
Even as the company has grown larger, the principles of a family-run business -- trust, honesty and respect -- continue to be its foundation. The company was founded in 1931 by Ingwer Magnussen. A cabinetmaker by trade and a craftsman and businessman by heart, Ingwer took the bold initiative to start his own business in Kitchener, Ontario, when he was unable to find work during the 1930s depression. He beautifully and intricately carved show wood for sofa frames for upholstery manufacturers and his business grew into a good-sized company serving Canada.
Richard Magnussen, Ingwer's son, joined the company in 1970 at the age of 20. Richard steered the company's focus on expansion and growth, enabling Magnussen Furniture to become Canada's largest supplier of occasional tables. In 1986, Richard founded Presidential Furniture, a division of Magnussen Furniture, to serve the U.S. market. In 1986, the company began trading as Magnussen-Presidential Furniture, which became one of the most progressive occasional furniture suppliers in North America. With an eye to detail and an understanding of the worth of exclusive designs, Richard built relationships with international manufacturers from around the world and tapped a huge growth opportunity. Magnussen-Presidential Furniture began importing from the Orient a decade before fashion trends and design styles in the furniture business made it in vogue to do so.
In 2002, Magnussen-Presidential Furniture became Magnussen Home. The addition of "Home" reflects what Magnussen offers as a company -- fine furniture, designed and created by a family of craftsmen from around the world, to fill the most important rooms in your home.
Details are important... even down to where you will set a water glass. They have a passion for details. It stems from how Magnussen runs their company, grows into the conveniences they design into their furniture, and blooms into the relationships built with their valued dealers.
Magnussen designs every piece of furniture that carries the Magnussen Home name. They understand that finishing touches like intricately carved woodwork or ironwork do more than complete the look of a piece of furniture; they set the tone of your home. Magnussen furniture does more than fill a home. It expresses who we are.
An unwavering commitment to ensuring your satisfaction is their most important difference.
Great for side of bed

The quality of this nightstand is very good. The wood finish is nice, and the color is true to what I see on my computer screen. The top drawer is lightly felted on the bottom, and it comes with a plug, which converts to 3 plugs. I can plug my phone, my iPad, and a table lamp into the nightstand. But it also comes with a snazzy feature...if you plug the lamp into the right (indicated) plug, you can turn the lamp on and off by simply touching a metal tack on either side of the nightstand. Plus, it also has a nightlight feature. One touch of that tack and a light underneath the nightstand turns on. A second touch turns the night light off and the lamp on. And a third touch turns the lamp off. Very nice! My only thought is that perhaps I would have ordered the next size up of this item. I think the size of the room and our king size bed make these look a tad small. If you have a large room, order the next size up, which is a bit more expensive. Overall...this is a great nightstand and works great in our modern-style home
I really like this nightstand

For the money, it's a great nightstand. Some reviewers warned that you couldn't use drawer organizers because of the drawer size and configuration.. The plastic ones that you fold and put together are too big; however, I found some slightly shorter solid plastic ones in various widths that work perfectly. They are more expensive, and not tight fitting, but do the trick. The only thing I wish is that the top of the stands had some protective coating against scratches, heat, and water wrings. I'm a coffee/tea drinker. I will invest in some glass tops to counteract it, but the nightstands overall seem vulnerable to scratches if you aren't careful.

I can't say enough good things about these nightstands. Excellent quality, beautiful finish, very well made. Love the night light underneath. Now I just need to have a california king headboard made. The manufacturer (Magnussen) has been extremely helpful on how I go about having one made. After searching for hours on line (i bought 2 dressers used which is how i began the search) I was elated to find these. They are pricey but worth it. Thanks Wayfair!

This nightstand has a wonderful style and I can't believe how affordable. I was able to unplug the night light, run an extension cord to my art lights and now turn them on by touching the sensor on the nightstand. Thrilled!
Oh my gosh! It's amazing!
