From the beginning as a small furniture company in Ontario, Canada, Magnussen has evolved into a full line furniture resource with offices in Ontario, Canada; High Point, NC; Riverside, CA; and, the Far East. Their business is creating furniture designs of exceptional style, value and beauty. Magnussen produces these designs in partnership with their manufacturing partners around the world that meet exacting standards for superior quality at the best possible value.
The foundation of Magnussen's success is built on the company's core values of trust, honesty, and respect. Each of my teammates at Magnussen Home participates in the success of the company and is eager to ensure that their furniture products enrich the homes of customers with their exceptional style and workmanship.
An unrivaled value in home furnishings -- this is the commitment that they renew everyday to consumers who invite Magnussen Home into their lives. Magnussen sources their designs from only the finest home furnishings manufacturers, many in the Far East and Central America.
Even as the company has grown larger, the principles of a family-run business -- trust, honesty and respect -- continue to be its foundation. The company was founded in 1931 by Ingwer Magnussen. A cabinetmaker by trade and a craftsman and businessman by heart, Ingwer took the bold initiative to start his own business in Kitchener, Ontario, when he was unable to find work during the 1930s depression. He beautifully and intricately carved show wood for sofa frames for upholstery manufacturers and his business grew into a good-sized company serving Canada.
Richard Magnussen, Ingwer's son, joined the company in 1970 at the age of 20. Richard steered the company's focus on expansion and growth, enabling Magnussen Furniture to become Canada's largest supplier of occasional tables. In 1986, Richard founded Presidential Furniture, a division of Magnussen Furniture, to serve the U.S. market. In 1986, the company began trading as Magnussen-Presidential Furniture, which became one of the most progressive occasional furniture suppliers in North America. With an eye to detail and an understanding of the worth of exclusive designs, Richard built relationships with international manufacturers from around the world and tapped a huge growth opportunity. Magnussen-Presidential Furniture began importing from the Orient a decade before fashion trends and design styles in the furniture business made it in vogue to do so.
In 2002, Magnussen-Presidential Furniture became Magnussen Home. The addition of "Home" reflects what Magnussen offers as a company -- fine furniture, designed and created by a family of craftsmen from around the world, to fill the most important rooms in your home.
Details are important... even down to where you will set a water glass. They have a passion for details. It stems from how Magnussen runs their company, grows into the conveniences they design into their furniture, and blooms into the relationships built with their valued dealers.
Magnussen designs every piece of furniture that carries the Magnussen Home name. They understand that finishing touches like intricately carved woodwork or ironwork do more than complete the look of a piece of furniture; they set the tone of your home. Magnussen furniture does more than fill a home. It expresses who we are.
An unwavering commitment to ensuring your satisfaction is their most important difference.

Purchased two. Arrived well packed with no damages. Color is great, but does show dust. Nightstands height are higher than my old ones, and the three drawers, though not as large, will fit my needs. Drawers are not dove-tailed, so will not place heavy objects inside. Thought about changing the knobs, decided against because they are quite nice. Otherwise, these nightstands are great and I am happy with the purchase.

Quick delivery on the nightstands. Great packing with reinforced edges; arrived with no damage. Nice weight and height. The three drawers will accommodate bedside necessities (Kindle, hand lotion, magazines, eyeglasses) with ease. Nice black finish, but does show dust. The built in cords for charging phones and plugging in lamps are an extra bonus. Watched the nightstands on Wayfair for a couple of years. Immediately purchased during "Daily Sales." Nightstands do not disappointment!

I searched for black nightstands all over the web and glad I came across this one. The silver knobs work great with my decor as well. The quality is better than I expected. They came all assembled - heavy! Plus, there are plug-ins on the back/bottom with a touch plate so you can turn on/off your table lamp so easily!
Wayfair and product are great

The nightstand is the best quality furniture I have seen in a long time. The packing alone was great. I knew from the quality of packing that the product was going to be great. Love the fact that I can plug in the nightstands one electric cord to my outlet and then have three plugs for light and other items from the nightstand. The touch strip to turn lamp on and off is so easy. I love everything about this furniture.
Lovely side table

This is a great product. Made well and is beautiful next to my bedroom set. I love the touch lamp feature. You can just plug any lamp in and the table will turn light on and off when you touch the top back area. Well made. Great value and beautiful.

Pretty Much as Advertised

Great night stand, the top is a laminate (may scratch easily) but very nice piece and reasonably heavy. The electric strip in the back is greatness and is way understated in the description. It is like having an invisible "clapper" to turn on the lights. It's a keeper.

Received two nightstands yesterday - they are gorgeous! Because the finish is black, the picture doesnt do them justice. Spent about six weeks looking for nightstands, finally ordered the Magnussen South Hampton - fully expecting disappointment from an internet purchase. Surprise - this is exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful finish, excellent construction!
Purchased two to use as Night stands

Very practical as night-stands, as the drawers provide adequate storage. I like the "shot of blsck" in my othetwise light bedroom suite.
