I have Lodge cast iron pre-dating their switch to their seasoned line of Lodge Logic and am very satisfied with these early cookware items ; however, these unseasoned items are no longer available, having been replaced by Lodge Logic seasoned cookware. The Logic line is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil (which is inferior to animal fat and is not recommended for cast iron seasoning) and its application is also poor : the pot I have has rusted on first use and the factory finish is mottled. Emails to the company remain unanswered. The biggest disappointment is that there is no option to choose from : Lodge has removed the unseasoned line from their inventory and have thus reduced an otherwise fine product to a mediocre one at best. So, I will now continue to go with the French lines of enameled cookware, which I have used for years with great satisfaction.
