Although too pricy, this bed is great for boys 2+ The high frame design on the upper side provides excellent protection from falling and also drafts if bed is located near a window. We found that a regular twin mattress with a small spring box (aproximately half the height of a regular springbox) is ideal for this bed.[...]

We bought this bed to transition our 2 year old son from the crib. He loved it, gets in it by himself, plays in it with joy. It is very stirdy and fun. I would recommend to buy a good mattress with it.
