Lighting Components

This lighting unit has two lights that are attached to a single control unit. The control unit sits on the floor behind the plant. The lights are on spikes that push down into the soil. The color is green. The lights don't swivel or adjust but you can get the right angle by changing the angle of the spike in the soil. I have a 10 foot tall palm in my family room in a 15 gallon container. The two lights provide soft mood lighting. My only wish is that the light was a bit stronger for a more defined leaf reflection on the ceiling and the wall. However, if your plant is less than 10 tall (and less than four feet wide), you'll get plenty of light on the plant. I've plugged the light into a remote sensor which plugs into the outlet. I use a remote control to turn the lights on and off which saves me the trouble of bending down to the floor to operate the light. There is plenty of cord between the lights and the main unit and between the unit and the plug. The instructions say you should be careful to water around the lights and not on them although I've watered right on the lights several times without any problem. The lights brighten up a dark corner. The light is strong enough that I can use it as ambient light with the TV and turn the overhead lights off. I gave this product a 4-star rating because I would have liked a stronger light for my large palm but this is a great product!
