Heavy duty compostor from San Jose, CA on 12/17/2014 – Verified Buyer
I bought this as a gift for my wife and read the reviews prior to making the purchase. I wanted a good product that would be sturdy and last many years. I believe this product will do just that. As for assembly, I am very handy and put many things together and thought it would take less time then mentioned in the other reviews. But as it turns out they were right on the money with 3 hours. If I had to assemble a second composter I am sure I could reduce my time by at least half due to familiarity with the product. A lot of my time was spent deciphering the pictures to determine what the intent of the step was. Most steps don't have written instructions just pictographs. This is not bad until you get to the lid (about the 5th step) then at the bottom of the step there is a note not to drill the holes in one of the pieces (oops just a little late). Up to that point every step was do this to both pieces ( this caught me off guard) but as it turns out it is not the end of the world if the lid gets these holes drilled but none the less I hope this saves someone from making the same mistake I made. I have not used this yet so I cannot comment on how well it works, but it should be fine.

Good so far! from Mesa, AZ on 11/03/2015 – Verified Buyer
After a lot of research I opted for this tumbler. I wanted the composter up off the ground and I want to use very little labor to mix the compostables. After reading the reviews of several types of composters it became evident that regardless which one you opt to get, you must view one or two YouTube videos to get some ideas on how to make assembly easier. Had I not done so I would have probably made more mistakes during assembly. If you can get through assembly without a mistake or two my hat is off to you. The instructions don't say much, it's all drawings which you have to interpret. I put two hinge bolts in the wrong slots and I didn't see the quasi description of what the plastic, black triangle gizmos were for until I was 12 screws into the project. I used some but frankly could not reach into the bin on the inside and apply enough pressure to insert the screw from the outside. I did what I could and covered the exposed screw ends with silicone aquarium glue. Hopefully they will hold. Otherwise assembly was straightforward and I accomplished it in a reasonable amount of time. The tumbler is setting on two sets of 18" bricks out by my back fence. I made sure it was level because I think if it isn't there could be an accident or the tumbler would eventually show signs of distress if it was all cattywampus and you tried to tumble it when it was full. Speaking of full, you would be nuts to put 65 gallons of stuff in this. It needs room to circulate and I think people who have had problems have their bins too full, too wet or they are not put together properly. It is plenty big, even at 3/4 full which is where I aim to carry the load. To safely move it, one person on each side is needed. The black side support is welded steel and the legs don't fold up when you lift it. It seems solid and well designed. I'm afraid I will want another one so I can cook two batches at once but I'll see how things go in the next few months.

Pros: Welded side supports, rigid, double walled plastic sides, Two year warranty (big selling point)
Cons: The black screw ends caused me a problem for two reasons: they did not emphasize their use early or adamant enough or give a sample of how you were to get them affixed when installing the bottom panel

Lots of assembly from Gardnerville, NV on 11/26/2012 – Verified Buyer
The product seems to be of pretty good quality. There was lots of assembly required. According to instructions, it required two people but I had not problem doing it myself but then I am tall with long arms. Someone of shorter stature my require a second person. Some of the diagrams in the instruction manual did not match up to the actual assembly. Also, I found it quite odd that they didn't pre drill the holes that were required for assembly. They included a drill bit and asked you to do your own drilling. It was also odd for them to ask you to insert a plastic plug into some holes used in the manufacturing process instead of them doing that themselves!

Great product and even better customer service, way to go Wayfair. from Cave Creek, AZ on 05/19/2015 – Verified Buyer
I ended up with two of these. The first composter had a small hole on the lid and one of the two concave handles look like it had melted slightly during the manufacturing process. it sill function but i told Wayfair just so they would be aware and they sent me a second unit IMMEDIATELY. INCREDIBLE customer service, a RARE thing these days. The second unit arrived a few days later having absolutely no flaws. Way to go Wayfair for putting customer satisfaction first and foremost. I will look at your company for future purchases.

Pros: Bins works perfect. First load of compost has been literally cooking for a week. Just the right size and very sturdy.
Cons: none so far

Difficult assembly; Great design/functionality from Baltimore, MD on 08/24/2015 – Verified Buyer
To say the assembly was difficult is an understatement. It required drilling holes into the plastic and buying the right size socket wrench. And assembly had to take place outside because it was too big to fit through our door. But once it was all set up, I am happy with the design and functionality with it. We live in a city with a very small back "yard" and this is a perfect size for us. Our composting efforts are underway and I look forward to using our fertilizer for our urban garden in the future!

Pros: design
Cons: assembly, requires buying addition tools if you don't have the right size socket wrench

Great product from Chicopee, MA on 09/02/2015 – Verified Buyer
This tumbler is just what I wanted. It is large enough for a small family that is serious about composting. I was pleased with the quality of the material. The price was great. The same model was priced a lot more at other sites.

Pros: Great value
Cons: The assembly is the hard part. If you are familiar with IKEA, you will be OK. The parts are labeled and the directions are in picture form. I would say the level of assembly is intermediate . My friend and I assembled it in an hour and a half.

lifetime tumbler composter from las vegas, NV on 12/02/2013 – Verified Buyer
This is my second tumbler. I broke the first one by loading it with too much water. (Hint) We have problems with roaches getting in our compost and with the above ground composter there are none. It is very easy to use and does the composting in a short period of time.

Five stars on the operation of the composter. from Caliente, NV on 06/25/2015 – Verified Buyer
Works just fine, good value for the $$$ spent. I would purchase it again.

Pros: Great construction, this will last forever.
Cons: This was literally a nightmare to assemble. I have assembled numerous DIY projects, nothing like this one. The instructions were not detailed enough. If it hadn't been for a "You Tube" video I would have never been able to assemble this project.

Great product for composting from Brainerd, MN on 05/27/2015 – Verified Buyer
It wasn't complicated to put together. It is a nice large size and we have it set back from the house in our rural setting. Lots of wildlife in this area, including bears and so far it hasn't been an issue at all. Very pleased as it is exactly what we were looking for.

Pros: Great value for the money. Like the ability to rotate the composter easily.
Cons: None at this point.

Takes two to assemble. from Katonah, NY on 09/29/2014 – Verified Buyer
No problem with durability and this is a good size; took at least a few hours to assemble--and that was with my brother-in-law, who had already assembled to of these for himself, and you definitely need two people to assemble it. Neverthelss, I would definitely recommend this composter. Its now about half full and getting harder and harder to rotate, but still far easier than manually turning over the compost.
