Looks good but...

Like the look of the bed but the slats are definitely a problem. There are not even close to enough of them, and no center support. Plan on adding your own extra support or you will have problems here.
Beautiful & Modern/Elegant; Much better with a $10 upgrade!

We previously had the Queen version of this bed and we the same issue that was spoke about in one of the previous reviews (cracking along the edges where the slats lay down). It began to squeak and didn't sound like a $200 bed, let alone one that cost 2-3x that. We wanted to upgrade to a king bed and although my wife was reluctant to go with this bed, I had an idea that I believed would solve the issues with these 'slat' beds. They often only come with a few supports that connect the slats to the ground (vertical 2x4's, etc). Maybe 1-3 of them and that's it! Sure it helps a very small amount in the middle, but it's still not very strong in the middle and the edges where you actually lay and get in bend a ton causing cracks to develop. I purchased (4) 2x4's, cut them to the length that was needed to go from the ground to slat (about 18" I think it was for us) and put 3 on EVERY SINGLE SLAT. One in middle, one on the right side (between the edge of the bed and middle post so you can't see it underneath the bed) and one of the left side. Having support of each slat in 3 areas spanning from headboard to footboard...this bed is now VERY solid. It costs me about $10 in wood and screws so it'd cost them about the same for the wood and extra shipping costs, but instead they've made it the customers duty to wait for something to fall apart. Speaking with the place we purchase the queen from, this is very very common with slat beds. Add the vertical 2x4's under the slats from ground to slat (3 across each slat) and don't worry about the bed ever again. Trust me, when it starts to crack...you'll be awake all the time if you're a light sleeper.
Bed looks great... but then your nightmare begins
