"Hi Dwana, the front width opening is 53". It begins to taper back after 5.75" until it finishes at 26.5" in the back. The full dimensions are 35.5" H x 19"D."

The center is very easy to move as it is lightweight. If you have kids you will need to secure to the wall to avoid tipping (fastener included with unit.)
