About the Manufacturer
People throughout the world already associate the Laura Ashley brand with originality and quality. In addition to a complete line of fashion and accessories, the designer has created a number of classic collections for Laura Ashley Home. A 50-year legacy has helped to inspire the Laura Ashley collections and is reflective in every new style.
British designer Laura Ashley began creating her distinctive floral designs in 1953, inspired by a scarf worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film "Roman Holiday." Her long flowing dresses and simple accessories were hugely successful in the late '60s and '70s, prompting the designer to expand worldwide. The first Laura Ashley shop in the U.S. opened in San Francisco in 1974. Although the designer passed away in 1985, her husband, Sir Bernard Ashley, continued the Laura Ashley legacy.
The 16" Faux Suede Empire Lamp Shade is a Rustic style product. Rustic style uses a warm nature-inspired color palette: whites, browns, blacks, grays, and tans. Hints of green, orange, and red can be found as accent colors.
Incorporating natural materials, such as wood, stone, leather, sisal, wool, clay, and various metal finishes, throughout the decor, is the key element to Rustic style.
Contrasting textures and patterns are also used in this style. You can shop for more Rustic Lighting Shades in the Lighting section of our site.
