Making it into a sleeper is not smooth as the base is fairly light and the mechanism doesn't seem to be well designed so you need a bit of effort. Sleeping on the sofa is fairly comfortable if this just for guests. The mattress that it comes with is thicker than typical sofas so you should be able to get decent night's rest. Was this helpful? The sofa is beautiful, and the leather is soft but durable. We've had it two months now, with lots of use and kids bouncing up and down on it, and it is holding up great. The mattress is pretty comfortable. We've had one guest sleep on it so far, and they said it was comfortable. It definitely feels sturdier/better than other sofa beds I've seen.
