La Vita Vera Mamma Ro Canister

This is great. It sits out on my counter in the kitchen and it makes a great accent piece. I use it for storing cookies and when they're gone...we put in candy.

I bought two to store sugar and flour in, washed and dried them, and started using them. They looked great and added a terrific red accent to my kitchen. But, the sugar was soon hard as a brick and the flour smelled of mildew. I cleaned them out and put the new sugar and flour in plastic bags before returning them to the canisters. From that point on they worked just fine. Another problem is the tops stain easily. Some olive oil got on one of mine, but in a few days had been absorbed and didn't show any more. Now I'm careful not to put anything on the tops. These canisters are a little trouble, but they look so great and it is so hard to find nice pure red canisters that I'm happy to put up their foibles.
