By simply selecting your time zone this clock will set itself to the standard national time for your area. Your time piece will always be on the right time so that you'll always be right on time!

All La Crosse Technology weather instruments, clocks and watches are calibrated daily to the atomic time standard of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. All instruments default to fahrenheit, inches, mph and all atomic time pieces are tuned to the 60 kHz, WWVB radio signal broadcast by the National Institute of Standards and Technology at Fort Collins, Colorado.

As another reviewer mentioned, it is very quiet, although not totally silent like digital clocks. That's an old radio cliche from the golden age of radio; i.e.,"the old clock on the wall says it's time for.....etc...etc..." I am still producing radio spots, but all my work is done from my home studio. But accurate time is still as important as ever in radio production. This wall clock closely resembles the ones in the major radio stations; it's large easy to read...and absolutely accurate! At 4:00 PM all of the hands start spinning and won't stop until the battery is pulled out. I notice from other reviews that I am not the only one with this problem.
