Efficient & compact Of course it's smaller. You can't fit gallon containers in the door, only half gallons will go there. You have to plan your shelf heights carefully. The produce bins could be larger, long celery stalks don't fit. An eight egg bin, seriously? The freezer drawers don't pull out smoothly, and you have to be careful or one could fall out entirely, especially the shallower bottom one. Yes, it happened. Those are some of the downsides. But I like this refrigerator, and after living with it several months, I would buy it all over again. It doesn't exactly match other SS appliances, but it doesn't clash; the center part matches better. It has a fairly quiet motor. I've learned to buy less produce at one time, to have enough room for storage. The 3 drawers for frozen food are hard to fill up, they hold lots of poly bags & dinners. One or two pizzas will fit, if the boxes are not the larger ones. Unless you like to buy in very large quantity, the freezer will be enough. LG should have built only two freezer drawers, and made the refrigerator part larger, imo. There is a special ice drawer, which came with two miniature ice trays. It will hold conventionally sized ice trays too. I prefer the lack of an icemaker, since they are always causing problems, it's just a matter of time. My fav things about this refrigerator are its counter depth and relatively tall size. The LG warranty sounds nice, although I hope I don't have to find out what it's worth. |
