Monster of a cat tree
Michael from Kearns, UT – Verified Buyer
The 87 lb.box arrived taped and torn, fortunately the insides were sealed in heavy weight plastic. The one page directions in metrics were very vague, I had to line up all posts so I could get the size ratio correct, taking a little over an hour to assemble, I wasn't in a hurry to do so. I literally had to force the cats off off tree until I was done, the top adjustable posts do not reach the ceiling for stabilization, however I did place clear rubber furniture leg caster caps underneath to prop it back towards the wall. If I feel the need for making sure the posts need to reach the ceiling I will do so by getting two pieces of all thread and connectors to complete the project. I placed unit in the corner for the purpose of room and sturdiness. in my mind the hammock is a waste and the 'tubes' are useless as well unless you have kittens and only kittens, you would have to put two together in line for any adult cat to use them. The structure is solid, but I tightened all bolts with an impact tool, in other words it's not coming apart until I take it apart, except where I had to hand tighten the connections that used the all thread bolts. I put both hanging ropes on the bottom levels and both tubes on the up levels.
Great Deal, Easy Set-up, Cats Love It!!

This item at the sale price is a steal. Good quality, packed well and easy to put toguther. My daughter and I put it together in a half hour. I recommend laying everything out in order, matching pieces up and lining everything up largest to smallest. When you tightten the poles, get them pretty snug which will help stabilize the whole unit. As for the pieces at the top that people are saying does not reach the celing....Go to Lowes and get longer threaded rod. Measure your finished Kitty Condo from the top posts to your celing. Use threaded rod that is about an inch or 2 longer than that measurement. Thread the new longer piece into the caps that you took the old rod out of . Remove the top 2 posts and thread the other end of the rod down into the post. Re-attach the post snuggly and then back out the threaded rod till you have a snug fit at the celing. Then tighten the lock nuts to secure the threaded rods. Other tips: The hammock in the middle is pretty usless unless you have really small cats. The perch with the cylinder on the top right is not very sturdy. I turned mine inwards and supported the cylinder against the lower perch. The 4 cats we have absolutely love the whole unit and use it a ton. We placed it in our picture window and we have a bird feeder out front...they sit there all the time !
Awesome for multiple cats!

First off, I have to say I am extremely pleased with this cat condo. Even though I had to pay extra to have it shipped to Canada, the price still can't be beat. It arrived on my doorstep the exact date specified. The box was tightly packed, with all pieces and hardware (even a few extras) and two allen keys for assembly. The weight of the box required me to cut it open on my doorstep and carry it in in armfuls, but that was the only minor inconvenience. Assembly was only hampered slightly by very basic directions. It really isn't as bad as it looks, but I had to cut out the colour photo on the box it came in and put it next to the directions to better have an idea of what went where. Just be sure to have a look at where the smallest pillar is supposed to be. It's actually near the top right, the next smallest pillar second up from the bottom left. If you've ever assembled LEGO or IKEA products correctly, you'll have no problem. I have to say, I never expected this level of quality, and the fact everything fit together and was undamaged was awesome. My four cats were a bit nervous about going anywhere near it at first, but after a week or so they all use it to lounge/play/scratch/nap on. They really love it! I would recommend to anyone who has two or more energetic cats. The only downside I found is that the braces on the top don't extend to an eight foot ceiling (which is the standard for most houses) so, word of caution. I shoved in a firm pillow between the brace and the celing, and it seems to work just fine. All four cats have been romping around on it simultaneously, and it's solid! Well worth the investment. I am beyond pleased with this product - and so are my cats!

I am overall pleased with my order. It came earlier than expected. However, the package tracking site did not work and said my package was at the warehouse the entire time so I was unable to track it's progress. Also, they put several silicon baggies in the bottom of the box that broke and got all over the cat tree and my house. I had to spend an hour vacuuming it off my floor and off the cat tree because it is VERY toxic to animals. Another thing is that the box was very beat up and had holes in it so I'm thankful that I didn't lose any pieces or that something didn't get damaged. It was pretty easy to put together and my cats love this item. I would recommend this product to any multiple cat homes! The order is perfect, just had some packaging issues.

other than the harsh smell when taking it out of the box that goes away fairly quickly it was easy to assemble(kind of) none of the parts are marked but if you sort them all out by size it easy to figure out which piece is which, it supports both of my cats and one is rather fat, comes with extra bolts, very soft, I would love it if I was a cat, seemed really wobbly while assembling but when i got the parts on that attached the sides to the middle it stopped would definitely recommend and buy again
Too short for my room
Siobhan McAlpin from Hartland, WI – Verified Buyer
First off, the price is quite good for the size of this thing! However, the box arrived in really poor condition. It was torn half open! The UPS driver said it was because the box could not support the weight inside, which was apparent, because the box was 97 lbs. Well, luckily nothing was damaged. The directions are simple, but it was pretty easy to put together. Unfortunately, the posts that are supposed to press against the ceiling are about 6" too short even when extended the full length. I shoved a yoga mat between the ceiling and posts temporarily, but I'll have to find something to replace that soon. The cats don't like/use the hammock or "O" shaped pieces at all (might be good for kittens?), but they love the rest of the cat tree. I should mention I have four adult cats, three of whom are medium sized and one who is large. They all are quite comfortable hanging out on it. Overall, I give this four stars. If anything had been damaged, however, it would not have been a four star item.
Great for bigger cats

This is a great product. I have 4 lager cats(each cats is at least 15 lbs) and they love to play with the ropes and in the hide away boxes, and especially they like to sit on the tallest perch. The only thing was that the measuring to the ceiling. This tree won't work if your room is taller that 6 feet. We had to use some other means to reach the rest of the way, since the room I put this in was 8 feet high.

I love my Cat Gym I have three cats and all of them really seem to love it. It did however come in a box so torn up that the UPS man had to carry it upside down. All the pieces were there but the main base on the bottom was broke and there were three dirty poles. All in all it was a great deal for the price and we enjoy watching them play on it.

Pros - easy assembly (with exceptions noted below), decent quality, arrived on schedule Cons - one piece damaged, two incorrect screws included, one seated nut un-threaded, one bolt damaged Overall I like the look, feel and materials in the tree, but it doesn't seem like a lot of care went into packaging the materials. Included were two incorrect bolts that made assembly impossible. One bolt had its Allen Key slot filled with metal, making it impossible to use. In one platform where the upper rope toy hangs, the seated bolt in the wood wasn't threaded, making it impossible to attach the bolt holding the rope. Lastly, one of the large base pieces was cracked and folded upwards slightly. It's a nice cat condo/tree but for the money I paid, I would have preferred more attention to packaging and more quality control for included components. I would not recommend the Rome cat tree to a friend, so I can't recommend it here either!

Have had this cat house for about three months now and I have been very impressed. The directions were a bit confusing to put together, but once it is assembled it is a pretty solid piece. My cat doesn't use the hammock at all but she loves going from level t level to lay out in the sun by the window. For the price it's worth it and way more for your dollar than the ones in pet stores.
