I bought this cat tree as a Christmas gift for my adult sons kitten. I put the tree together prior to my sons arrival for the holidays. Every time I turned around, I found my 12 yr old cat inside the house! I never thought he would use the house. He has his own tree on the screened porch but none inside so I decided to get him his very own Shanghai Mansion. After all, my old kitty is the best cat ever and hes worth it! Regarding the product, it is very stable, has a relatively small footprint, fits great in a corner or along a wall, by the window etc. I like that the top perch is padded and has a border around three sides so my cat wont fall off in his sleep when he stretches. The confirguration makes it easy for an older cat to use yet still intersting and fun for a younger kitten. Shipping is fast.
71" Shanghai Cat Tree

I bought this for my cat Puss-Puss. She was using the staircase as a scratching post so I decided to find her something more appropriate to use. I call this her cat mansion. There as so many levels and areas to claw. She likes to be up high and look down at us from the loft above. There is not one day that she doesn't use it. This cat tree is well made and sturdy. The carpet, toy, twine and overall structure is still intact and I have had it for over a year. You can't go wrong with this item for your cat!

When I took the pieces out of the box and started constructing the house, it didn't take long for my cats to start exploring it. They didn't even wait for me to finish building it. I've now had this product for a while, and despite the opinion that it would go unused after a while, my cats still enjoy their tree. They've been a bit rough on it and some of the posts are a bit loose now, and will need to be tightened, but they pay no mind to that. The slide looking attachment didn't stay attached, but they still use it as well. When first purchased my two kittens could share the bed on top with room to spare. One of them still loves that top perch, though he doesn't fit quite as well as he once did. (He's about 12 pounds now.) Each of the three cats spend time lazing about on the various perches, sometimes just hiding out at the bottom. And the two younger ones (with claws) really enjoy the sisal rope posts.
My cat's perfect escape from our small children.

I'm so glad that we decided to make this purchase. My husband and I searched for a while (online and in store) to find the perfect cat tree. We have no regrets about this purchase. My husband put it together with ease. It is very sturdy. My twins love to sit on the first step to pet the cat, but they know that when she climbs up high, it's alone time. Small children don't always understand the importance of giving animals their space~this solves that problem for you. My cat absolutely loves the enclosed area for sleeping, and she can't get enough of the multple scratching surfaces. We got very lucky and found this item on sale around Thanksgiving, but if I had to pay full price, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.
Good cat tree, probably best for small cats or kittens
Linsey from Paoli, PA – Verified Buyer
It's a really great cat tree and our cats do like it when they get on it. It fits the description and it's actually a nice looking thing to have in our house. Our cats are larger, older cats though and they don't jump and climb quite like they used to. I would say, if you're a first time cat tree purchaser and you have older, larger cats, go with something with less climbing places. If I were to do it over, I might go with something a little smaller with less holes. The bed and the hidey hole are good places to keep cat toys, but our cats won't go in them. I didn't really heed the previous reviews I read about big cats, and I wish I had. not really for older, fat cats
Almost Purrfect cat tower!
Betty from Beaver, PA – Verified Buyer
I adopted a kitten and wanted her to have a space to call her own where she could play and hang out... and get away from my dog if she wanted to. She LOVES this tower!!! At different times she has hung out in different "pockets" but once she got big enough to reach the top bed, that has become her absolute favorite place. The tower is big so make sure you are aware of the measurements. Though I only have one cat, its big enough for more than one to enjoy. I bought the brown to match my brown leather furniture and it is attractive in our room. I don't know if this is a negative, but my cat doesn't use the sisal scratching areas on this cat tower. She is a miniature breed (munchkin) but it still seems like there aren't posts tall enough for her to completely stretch out.
Shanghai Cat Tree

I am quite pleased with this cat tree. Fabric is a little thin. I wish the little house was fabric covered inside but that is not a big issue. Both of my 5 month old kittens love it and use the sisal posts to scratch their claws. Also play chase to the top to see who wins. I plan to move it closer to a window soon. The base size is good and stays stable but then my babies are only just over 5 each. My tree did not have the hanging toy as seen in the picture. Seems like a good deal for the price. Not a 5 star due to thin fabric and the fact that the sisal wrapping is not full length on the posts. Please keep a picture available when you put it together. The instructions are very schematic and the picture keeps you on track.
What a Great Product!!

Wow my kitties think this is absolutely Amazing!!! when they unwrapped it Christmas morning they could not believe their eyes. My senior kitty whom will be 21yrs old climbed right up into the enclosed cubicle and promptly decided to take a little nap and my 3yr old kitty decided it was play time on the top level and do a little bird watching :) The price on this could not be beat I know, because I shopped around at all those big Pet store places and the quality is outstanding. They also love the cat scratching posts strategically placed for them to stretch and scratch something we all know cats LOVE to do. My babies will enjoy this for a long time.
cat tree, fun for the whole cat family!

I bought this cat tree several months ago for my For "the boys", my 4 boy cats ages 2 to 9 yrs. old. They all love, love, love, this tree. After I was able to get it built, all I had to do was rub it down with some cat nip and stand back! They run up and down it, sleep on it, play on it, and scratch on it. Great product! Now the bad news. It was not packed very well and 3 boards came broken. Luckily I'm a handy girl and was able to go to Lowe's and buy more MDF and lock nuts, parts etc. seal the MDF, re-carpet new boards, and put the thing together, which I found to be pretty easy. I know I could have sent it back, either way it was going to be a pain so I chose to rebuild it. So, My only complaint would be that the product needs to be packaged better for shipping. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
Quality Cat Tree
Donna from Lexington, KY – Verified Buyer
Easy to assemble. Quality materials with lots of scratching posts. Too tall for my cat who no longer climbs up high, so we just put the top post on the third level. Works great and my cat Punkin loves the house to crawl into and sleep. This is a big cat tree but house is for a small cat. The round object is also small and could be enjoyed by a kitten. The ladder isn't used by my cat but would be great for a kitten or scratching post. Punkin also loves to sit on the first level where she thinks she is hidden from view. Material is soft and velvety but not thick which works fine. I liked this cat tree better than others I viewed online.
