This is an attractive ceramic cup. I came to it in a search for an insulated coffee mug and it is indeed in the "Insulated Mug" section but there is NO INSULATION whatsoever with this mug. It is single wall ceramic (it states this) with a heat transferring ceramic that probably transfers heat better than stainless steel (not good at heat transfer). When using for hot coffee, it is too hot to hold with your bare hand and the "silicone" sleeve which promises to help gets almost as hot as the mug. Additionally, the sleeve is perforated with paw print cutouts around the entire circumference despite the picture showing only one. It is impossible for me to pick this mug up when it is hot without burning some part of my hand that contacts ceramic through those holes. It is not anywhere near as effective as the fast food cardboard sleeves so common. The worst part is the lid. It is very soft and seals well but it reeks of chemical smell similar to that of new tires. I expected it to be silicone but it is clearly not since silicone does not have an odor. I used the mug 5x, washing it carefully in the beginning and after each use.with an overnight stay in the drain board. After 5 uses, the rubber odor is still obvious when used. This cup is made in China and from recent evidence of the Chinese contempt for safety (anti freeze used as a sweetener in toothpaste, poison dog food, etc.) I had no confidence in their integrity and discontinued use of the cup. Bottom line: this is a nice looking but expensive cup cup when you remove all the useless and possibly harmful accessories. DO NOT BUY THIS!
