My biggest need was for a sturdy table with no wobble, and this table fits the bill perfectly. Each leg has two screws which so far has held them firmly in place. The table has a nice looking pattern and finish, but it comes off more easily than I expected. I managed to take a small bit off an edge just by leaning the table against a wall to screw in the legs. If its used lightly I think it would be great for formal dining uncovered, but for regular use I would strongly recommend a tablecloth and possibly a table mat underneath to prevent scratches. I mainly use the table for gaming; its perfect for 4 people and usable but smallish for 6 people. I would avoid activities such as food prep that could involve objects sliding across it. For any nerd gamers out there, this thing is perfect for small games of CCGs, board games like Catan or Carcassonne, card games like Munchkin or poker, etc. If you don't mind the inevitable scratches this is a great table for the price."..." I replaced our 42" Dining table with a British Isles drop leaf table against my wifes better wishes. When I removed the table from the packing she left the house. I was pleased at the quality of the wood and the construction of the table. I assembeled the table in 10 mins. My wife returned and asked about some obvious marks in the wood. I told her it is designed to appear as stressed wood. Later that evening she phoned our daughter and told her "Dad bought me a beautiful new dining table". I would recommend this product."..." I bought this same table and chair set last year for a beach rental I have and I am so pleased with it I just purchased another one for my other rental unit. The directions were easy to follow and it was very easy to put together. Not only is it a cute little set, it is pretty sturdy too for the price. I am very pleased. The apartment unit is small so having the pedestal base on the table gives you more room because you can push all four chairs in almost up to the table which you can not do with alot of other tables.
