Not long ago I removed a full size electric range and hood from the kitchen. Until we remodel, we have this stainless steel topped cart w/ a 2-burner hot plate on it, elec.fry pans, slow cooker, etc. The cart has plenty of space on top and remains uncrowded during meal prep. I store large cookware on the two lower shelves. Along with the cart, I purchased the s/s topped Home Styles buffet, and got an extra discount.[...]I put cart & buffet together by myself, w/o a problem. The cart is outstanding solid natural wood with great wheels, 2 of which lock. The 2 drawers are roomy. Drawer handles & towel bar are brushed stainless & look very modern. I have a small cramped kitchen. I got this cart to replace a kitchen table that was a junk collector. Because of this cart, my kitchen looks bigger, and stays cleaner. Also, as a result of this addition, I have all the room I need to store food, and all my kitchen needs. My kitchen doesn't seem small anymore, and I actually like to cook again! Also, everyone who sees this cart, thinks it looks great, and very classy and high end looking. It took me (by myself) approximately 2 hours to put the whole thing together and I only needed help with the granite top, due to it's weight. I planned on buying a similar cart from Crate & Barrel, but it was not immediately available, so I decided to purchase this cart. The unavailability of the C&B cart was a blessing in disguise, because this cart is less expensive, much more sleek and stylish, and has much more storage space! I have an extremely small kitchen/kitchenette with hardly any cabinetry, and this island made all the difference. The drawers are a little more shallow than I'd like, but notwithstanding that, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The construction is good quality, and it was relatively easy to put together. We didn't want a built-in microwave in our kitchen remodel. This cabinet looks great with our new brown Quartz countertops, glass tile backsplash and dark brown modern cabinets with stainless steel pulls, and coordinates nicely with the new stainless appliances. Our new kitchen table and chairs are also black (the tabletop is made of light-colored marble) and look great next to this cart. My husband assembled it with the good instructions in about 2 hrs (he doesn't claim to be handy.) It is sturdy & well-built. The drawer fits all our rolls of foil, plastic wrap, wax paper, baggies, etc. The 2 shelves underneath hold all our mixing bowls, pet food canister, placemats, mixer, recipe boxes and placemats.
