This kitchen island is spectacular. I recently had granite countertops and new backsplash put into my kitchen. I had a space in my kitchen that needed a large scale kitchen island and I chose to purchase one instead of having one built in. There is a video on Youtube that shows you all the features this island has. It has a removable knife rack that allowed me to store all my knives and toss the round knife rack on the counter. I use the ends of the island to display books, standing them upright so the pretty covers show instead of storing spices like the photo shows. I had a lot of contractors in and out of my house during the remodel and most thought this was a built in island as it is "furniture/cabinet" quality and not some little junky kitchen cart. Every single construction worker/contractor raved about the island and wanted to know where I got it. If the color scheme and size fit your kitchen I highly recommend this island. I also love the fact I can fit two bar stools under one side, I did not purchase the matching bar stools in the photo, I already had some that had a high back and they look great. It has a beautiful wood top, I have already decided if it doesn't wear well I will replace with granite, the base alone is worth the money. [...]"..."  Read more

I have a very small kitchen with very little counter space and storage. I use this kitchen cart as a place to store my microwave and add additional storage. This cart is a replacement for a cheaper one I bought several years ago, (different brand). This cart is so much nicer, much more durable and sturdy - I doubt this one will ever have to be replaced. I bought this cart for an unusually small space in our kitchen. We needed a cart with a small footprint and this one does the trick. Since our kitchen is small, cookbook and appliance storage are critical and we have loaded this cart with books in the bottom cupboard, plus heavy appliances (mixer, blender) on the top. The weight is fine. The cart was easy to assemble (I say this because I put it together without my husband's help!). There is one hole that was not drilled properly, but with some patience I was able to work around it. The cart is sturdy and looks nice and certainly does the job for the price."..."  Read more

I have purchased 4 kitchen carts for two different apartments. This one was the best by far. The design looks elegant, the doors are not terribly thin (could be thicker), the drawer is on real runners so it pulls out smoothly and easily, the two front doors actually lined up EVENly (which almost never happens), the black granite top (altho not terribly thick) definitely gives the piece a more substantial, upscale look...and the granite finish will last forever. The other islands I've purchased have wood tops, which show water stains. My favorite feature of this little island is the wooden -it is not on wheel-casters (although they do come with as an alternative). I much prefer the cambridge shaped legs (or feet) which make the piece look like a piece of furniture. This is a very good size for a small kitchen. The white ties in with the white kitchen cabinets, while the black granite top matches other finishes in the adjoining dining room. The drawer is fairly sturdy, although the bottom of it is cardboard--NOT WOOD. The reason I am giving only 4 stars is that the back, although fine to expose and need not be backed up to a wall, is, like the drawer bottom, made of white cardboard and so can be easily dinged. Also the cardboard backing was hard to line up so that no air cracks show through. Still for the price, this was one of the better little cabinets. BTWThe ones from JC Penney don't have cardboard backs--they have real wood, altho thin. I bought this one for the wooden cambridge (non-wheel) feet, the size, and the granite top."..."  Read more
