I was hesitant in the buying of the Avalon Kids Table and Chair Set because my son is 2 and is short for his age. But I didn't want to buy a smaller table and chair set and then he would end up outgrowing it fast. I wanted something that would last at least until he started elementary school.
But when I received the table and chair set, I was thrilled! The chairs were a bit high for my son to climb on, so I had to give him a little push. And eventually, after just a couple of tries, he was able to get on the chair on his own and off of it no problem, with no risk of falling.
And I see that it'll last probably a little later than just when he starts elementary school, maybe until he's 8 or 9 years old.
I bought the table and chair set in Natural colour to match our kitchen area (that's where we put it) and it's great. The table and chairs are varnished very nicely and smooth.
My husband assembled the table and chairs, very simple, in a blink of an eye, everything was assembled! My husband was impressed.
People may mention in their reviews that the chairs or table wobble, but a little hint, if you put the chair and table on ceramic floor, it will wobble for sure. Ceramic flooring is never 100% flush or flat.
What we did, we assembled the set on our wooden flooring and then moved it to our kitchen area on ceramic flooring. It wobbled very little, so we just put protective pads under the chair and table legs, and BINGO, no more wobbling!
If it wobbles a lot on wooden flooring, then I would suggest geting replacement table or chair legs, that's what we did and it did the trick."..." Read more

We are very Happy with the quality of this table and the appearence. It is very sturdy, a heavy wood and looks nice in our living room ( unlike some of the plastic ones that are out there), also was very easy to put together.The only downside i would say would be the drawer is a little difficult to open and shut, and with small children fingers can be pinched. We looked at many different table and chair sets, from plastic to wood and we really wanted one for our toddlers (1 1/2 and 4 years) to have for learning time, arts and crafts, reading, etc. But didn't want one that would be cheaply made and not hold up to toddler abuse, and also wanted one that was sturdy, including the chairs. With our son being 4 we decided against some of the sets mainly because of the height of them and didn't want him growing out of it in a couple years. This table is a great height for him now, and our daughter who will be 2 in march sits in the chairs pretty easily now that she knows how to get into them without tipping it because she does have to climb into the seat. she is not tall enough to sit down at the chair yet. but she is able to draw on the table fine, so in another year she will be perfect for it! As a "seasoned" kindergarten teacher I knew I was going to be very picky about a table and chair set I would purchase as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old granddaughter. I looked at dozens of sets and chose 3 to have my son and daughter-in-law choose from. I added a list of pros and cons with each set and they agreed that this was the best choice. A new little sister is due in May and we all felt that a circular table would prevent possible dangers of a little one getting hurt on the corners of a rectangle design. The stools are perfect to allow comfort and safety. The ladder back chairs are beautiful, but kids tip back on them (I know!) and a little one learning to pull up to standing would certainly find this design irresistible, but a potential danger. The design of the legs on this table and stools provide great stability with no tipping. The real seal of approval was when our granddaughter was delighted seeing it and a bonus we did not think of was how she sat down sideways on a stool and easily swirled around to the table, a definite safety feature. She is petite, but still able to play and eat comfortably with lots of room for growth. There is also plenty of room for cousins and friends to join her. Another unexpected pro is that all the stools fit under the table separately or stacked. This is a sturdy set, easily assembled, and a hit with kids and adults!"..." Read more

I bought this desk+chairs set for my 14month son since he likes to draw on doodle pads and do puzzles but always on his tummy on the carpet. So I needed to get a desk for him. I got the set after doing an extensive! research on childrens' furniture (safety-both physical and chemical matters, the looks and cost, etc). The seats are a bit high for him (his height is in 95% so pretty tall kid) yet but he manages to get up there and sits by himself with no problem (although I or someone is already watching him do that). The natural wood color was a plus for me since I like bright colors for kids but the desk, I wanted it to be neutral so not to distract or tire out his eyes. Anyways, the corners are perfectly round and smooth with no danger to the kid and best of all he would insist on sitting at his table for meals, snacks, puzzles and lego times! I would leave his water in straw cup and leave fruits or snacks on plates on the table and he would play and hangout and always go to the table for his food and drink needs. IT is sooooo cute! I didn't want the table to be too low/short for him when he is standing. And we still have enough room for him to grow with it too. Perfect size to begin with and such a quality table and chair set!
