As a "seasoned" kindergarten teacher I knew I was going to be very picky about a table and chair set I would purchase as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old granddaughter. I looked at dozens of sets and chose 3 to have my son and daughter-in-law choose from. I added a list of pros and cons with each set and they agreed that this was the best choice. A new little sister is due in May and we all felt that a circular table would prevent possible dangers of a little one getting hurt on the corners of a rectangle design. The stools are perfect to allow comfort and safety. The ladder back chairs are beautiful, but kids tip back on them (I know!) and a little one learning to pull up to standing would certainly find this design irresistible, but a potential danger. The design of the legs on this table and stools provide great stability with no tipping. The real seal of approval was when our granddaughter was delighted seeing it and a bonus we did not think of was how she sat down sideways on a stool and easily swirled around to the table, a definite safety feature. She is petite, but still able to play and eat comfortably with lots of room for growth. There is also plenty of room for cousins and friends to join her. Another unexpected pro is that all the stools fit under the table separately or stacked. This is a sturdy set, easily assembled, and a hit with kids and adults!"..."  Read more

I had searched for a long time for a herloom table and chair set that would be as unique and sturdy as my daughter's set, some 22 years old. WELL, THIS SET IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THAT! I purchased this for my almost 2 year and 1 year old granddaughters. This set was the sturdiest, prettiest, most practical with undershelf, and best constructed set I have ever seen. It is made with more quality than adults sets. The table and chair is a little taller than most and I expected, but my 20 month petite granddaughter still could get on herself. The table legs are about 3" square, the bolts on table and chairs are very thick, all holes predrilled perfectly, and not too big either. Assembly was just over an hour by a yet inexperienced young dad. Only needed a phillips screwdriver for table, allen wrench for chairs was all needed there. I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THIS SET TO ANYONE, AND EVEN THE PRICE IS REASONABLE FOR THE QUALITY."..."  Read more

My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves having her own table now. I shopped around and felt I could put up with the down sides I read about for this set and the price I was willing to accept. Low and behold: no pieces were missing. The chairs and the table were completely unmarred. I can see how they will scratch easily as the paint is that beautiful thick gloss. But the set right now is beautiful and easily wipes clean. My daughter loves it and the chairs are sturdy enough for me to sit next to her for coloring, snacks, and tea parties. She also uses them as step stools when she wants something from the countertop that I thought I placed out of reach. This table and chair set already behave like they will go the distance. decided on this table after seeing it at a friends. happy with the table, easy for me (wife) to assemble, couldn't wait till hubby was ready the next day. Got this for my 13 month old, now 20 months and we spend lots of time having snacks and doing activites on the table. She also loves to use the chairs to cook and watch me cook in the kitchen. I even caught my husband standing on the chair to reach something ( a no no) he is not a little guy, no damage done. Nice looking, great quality, easy to clean. comfortable for me, daddy, and nanna to all sit with her at. Age suggestion is for 3, probably because the little ones like mine like to climb and she has used the table to dance on and the chairs as a way to climb into her crib. I'm always with her but it takes them a second and can do it right next to you in a flash. She is way better now at 20 months but still like to dance on top once in awhile... so, this can be a danger, just beware. we had no problems, but food for thought.
