[...]Putting together the chairs is time-consuming, but once you do 2, the remaining 2 go quicker. Also I did NOT have any problems with any of the holes not lining up. I thought I might on one hole on one chair, but after re-aligning the last dowel I had screwed in, the first one went in without a hitch. My advice to put the table & chairs together without problems is to *follow the directions* and put the pieces together in the order directed, AND to do so with the chairs standing upright as if you were going to sit in them (as the directions picture you to do). Trying to insert dowels and screws with the chair laying sideways or tilted at a wrong angle may cause the holes not to line up properly.My 17 mo old daughter already loves her new table & chair set and has been sitting in various chairs ever since I finished putting it together. This was a great find. We researched for hours online and in stores to find the best table and chairs set. This one has nice detail to it without being too fussy, and is extremely solid in construction. I can sit on the chairs myself without feeling worried (175 pounds) and my 2 year old can just climb onto them or back down (I would think on average kids could do this at 18 months). The draw in the table is a nice feature to keep the child interested too. Assembly was easy but a bit time consuming once a table and 4 chairs had been done (we bought extra chairs)."..." Read more

Bought this table and chairs for our 2 yr. old granddaughter for Christmas. We put it together. Not too difficult. She loved it!!! Great table... the entire thing is where you can write on it with chalk as well... washes well with soap and water. We use the big outside chalk on the table because his hands broke the little chalk too easy (thought I would put that in there for a fyi if you have a rough boy). The only complaint on the table is that you do need to check the screws here and there to make sure they are not getting loose but otherwise a wonderful gift to give any little art lover.
