We bought this dresser for baby #2. We purchased all Storkcraft oak furniture for our older daughter, and for this new baby, we will reuse only the crib because our 3-year old daughter still uses her furniture.
This dresser looks like it will provide adequate storage for our new baby in a bedroom smaller than what our oldest has. Assembly has been a bit of a struggle. I don't recall it being as time-consuming as it was with the Beatrice collection pieces we assembled for our daughter. I (mom) assembled it myself, but it's taken about 4 hours, which of course was not in one consecutive session. The instructions aren't terribly difficult to follow, it's just a big piece of furniture with lots of little pieces involved. Now that it's assembled though, it's sturdy and similar quality to what we had before with Storkcraft. The wood is very soft and scratches/dents easily, but it's budget furniture, so I don't expect to get 10 years out of it without cosmetic injuries. Our 3-year old's furniture is holding up fine aside from gouges in the wood, so I expect to get similar wear out of this dresser with our new baby.
Storkcraft drawers are somewhat shallow, but again, I knew this going in. The color is not a perfect match to our other Beatrice oak furniture, but it's close enough that it won't look funny in the room.
Basically, if you're not looking to spend a fortune, like us, but you want something with adequate storage and are not expecting boutique-quality furniture, I think Storkcraft is just fine. It takes some time to assemble, but it can take a beating. We're on a tight budget, and I don't want top-end furniture that I'll constantly be worrying about getting damaged. Storkcraft provides that: it's safe, sturdy, and good for very active kids and budget-conscious families."..." Read more
