5 stars Looks like most people dislike the weird gap between the mattress and the side of the bed, but I actually found the gap to be very helpful when I make the bed. I tack the blanket in that gap, around the mattress, just like shown on their picture and the bed looks nice and neat. )) I don't think you could do it if the mattress was tight against the side of the bed. This bed is very low, so your blanket might hang down and touch the floor if you dont tack it. The cool part is that you don't need the spring box with this bed. The wooden slats are arched up and are floating in the end brackets to imitate the springs, and they do a good job of that, however I don't think they could withstand jumping - they will just pop out of the end brackets. This bed was just what I was looking for - low, no sharp edges, soft, slightly cushy headboard (which is good for wiggly sleepers), modern looking and fun. I've got pink and lavender and they look great together in one room. I think pink and green would also look nice. But i have not seen the green in person.
