This was easy to put together and my preschooler, who loves puzzles, loves this bookshelf, too. You can put the shelves in any order you want and you don't have to stack them all together. There is nothing to keep you from ordering a second to stack it higher, but you'd probably want to find a way to anchor it for safety.

Easy to put together. My granddaughter is only 16 months so I made it into 2 shelves - a one shelve unit and a 2 shelve unit. Very sturdy and she loves it,

Based on the pictures I thought that bookshelf would be modular. It is not. Otherwise it is very sturdy and well constructed. It takes some time to assemble it but the instructions were very easy to follow. If you are not at all handy, then the assembly may be a little challenging, but you should still be able to do it. My 2 12 year old, who breaks almost everything he gets his hands on, hasn't been able to break it yet. So I am going to have to say that it's a great piece of furniture as long as you don't expect it to be modular.
