The shaft assembles at three points and overall, I don't find it well built. It looks good and it is fine for a reading light; however, the angle of the screen is not particularly convenient (corner of a room right behind a chair. Additionally, the bottom screw tread seemed to be worn out. Overall, I would be cautious about purchasing this lamp. It should be seen physically to get a sense as to where the light shines.
