This sconce appealed to me because of its style, being a shinny brass color and the ability to mount it directly to the wall and run the cord to an outlet below. It also offers the ability to mount it to an electrical box if you wanted to. I was surprised that it even came with about a 30" brass cord cover to neatly hide some of the cord. Was this helpful? Just want some light from New York, NY	1.0 1/10/2010 DO NOT BUY THIS LAMP This product is a terrible disappointment. The proper screws were not sent with the lamps, which necessitated a trip to a hardware store before installation could continue. Despite numerous attempts, the wall plate remains slightly loose. The on-off switch turns "soft" after the lamp has been on for 10 minutes, and cannot be used. I have to unplug it in order to turn it off. Very poor product. Was this helpful? Yes / No
Lampoon from Meridian, ID	3.0 12/8/2008 Attractive and Functional Product Review Installed as a bedroom reading lamp. Fairly attractive, but could be better. The cloth shade looks nice, but I had to reposition it to hide a small wrinkle which remained after installation. I installed the lamp for reading-in-bed in a guestroom, positioned less than 2 feet above the reader's head. In that position a 3-way incandescent bulb gave off too much heat, so I used a single-wattage compact fluorescent bulb instead. The sheet metal over the base of the lamp is very thin and flimsy, so you have to be careful to avoid denting of distorting it during installation. This presents no problem after installation. Two feet of matching metal cover are provided to be placed over the electric cord. It looks better than having a dangling cord. Overall, the lamp functions well and is quite attractive despite cheap construction. With that caveat I would give this item a positive recommendation. Service Review Delivery was faultless.
