Rug a bit fragile. [...] I was expecting the rug to be more robust. The way that it's made it's really easy to just pull out a thread of wool. I worry that as we vacuum etc. it is going to destroy the rug. |

Palm Springs off-white shag rug This rug was the size, color and type of shag I was looking for. Most of the reviews were positive so I went ahead and purchased it. The rug arrived quickly and was well protected in the packaging. The shag material itself is a bit coarse, something like the unfinished yarn on a mop head. Some reviews mentioned a smell which it does have. Kind of a new car / plastic smell. However, the room I have mine in is very large so it wasn't noticeable at all in my case. I can see how the smell might overpower a small room. Either way, the "new" smell is temporary and goes away. I vacuumed it after laying it down and a lot of long shag strands clogged up the bristle roller on my Dyson Vacuum. I had to use scissors to cut the strands out of the roller. Now, I just use a hand attachment to vacuum it and no worries. For me, this rug was exactly the look I wanted so I'm happy with it 100%. |

I made a wise choice I love this rug. The shag is long but it works perfectly for me. I placed it in my family room which has gray texture carpet under a round table. This makes an interesting contrast. The off-white color is very nice. Sometimes white can be cold but not this color. |

Love the shag! This rug is a little longer shag than what I expected but it is perfect in my guest bedroom. |

Beautiful Rug I use the rug in our living room on hardwood floors. The bottom is made of a soft cottony feel, which is very nice (not a latex or rubbery backing) but also slippery on hardwoods, so a no slip pad is needed. The color is not too white and also not yellowish -- just a very nice, neutral off white. It is a LONG shag -- I couldn't tell this from the picture, but was extremely pleased with it. This provides a very unique, stylish look. I have kids ages 8 mos, 4 years and 6 years and one cat -- it's great for all (especially the crawler). My only "complaint" is that it sheds, like many new wool rugs will. I'm hoping the dustiness/loose fibers diminish over time with continued vacuuming. (You must vacuum with a "bare floor" setting, by the way, because the shag is too long for a carpet setting with a rolling brush -- at least with a Dyson vacuum). It also had a pretty strong smell coming straight out of the plastic packaging. Now that a couple of weeks have passed, it is lessening, though it still has the smell somewhat. Again, hoping this goes away completely after a couple more weeks. LOVE the look of this rug -- it is VERY nice. |

Durable and soft rug This product is used in my living room which has sort of a mod feel to it. It is plush and soft and the length of the shag runs is perhaps a little longer than I expected, but it is working out beautifully. As with anyshag rug, there is a certain amount of maintenance involved in order to keep it fluffed up and looking its best, but it's definitely worth the extra effort. It also doesn't shed as much as I expected a wool rug to shed. The "winter white" is ivory in color and looks great in the room! |
