Well Designed and Wonderful Quality from Manchester, CT on 09/29/2015 – Verified Buyer
This composter arrived sooner than promised so I was very pleased. It comes flat-packed with about a dozen pieces. I had seen comments about damage in shipping, and though there was some evidence of rough handling, it is double-boxed in 2 layer corrugated board and Bubble Cushion bags for each piece, and there was no damage at all. All parts were nicely finished and went together with stainless steel or nylon fasteners. There is an on-line video to illustrate assembly, but there is a very clear, wordless, one-page instruction sheet, so I haven't seen the video. It took me 1 hour and 47 minutes to assemble it, but more than 2 hours to run the shipping boxes thru my paper shredder to make compost. When you do that, there is very little shipping waste to go to the landfill (I am keeping the Bubble Cushion). Just the packaging tape and 2 pieces of packing foam. I immediately began filling it with grass clippings, the shredded packaging and a little bit of compost as a started. After 3 days the bin is full and temperature is up to 145 deg F. I love it.

Pros: Really well designed and well made
Cons: The 8 side panels have a bent fin at each end that screws to the octagonal end panels, and those screw holes are a tight fit. So it is hard to start the screws, but they hold very tightly.

Solid & Sturdy compost tumbler and the cheapest price on the web! from Westminster, CO on 04/19/2015 – Verified Buyer
I've been researching composting tumblers for a long time, and Joreforms get top ratings for everything but one thing: Directions and ease of assembly.

Funny thing was, I suspect those ratings were from people who have trouble putting together Ikea furniture, because now, I've done both... and was surprised how easy it was.

It took me about 1 hour 40 minutes to get it done... working solo. Ok, I did have some help from one of my 4 year olds... handing me screws and holding a wrench in place when I was tightening down the nuts on the central bar (I couldn't quite reach the other end).

Yes. It took some muscle to squeeze the exterior panel into place to sink the screws, but that was about it.

So, a word of advise. If the directions show laying the roller on it's side... that is actually the best way to keep it stable while you install the a panel. And take the time to lay out the panels ahead of time, with the handles where you want them. It'll save you time.

All in all, I like it a lot. And I'm looking forward to making yards of high quality compost for my garden and cutting down on my landfill footprint.

Pros: Best compost tumbler on the market
Cons: Assembly required... IE, actual physical work with sweat.

Great Composter from Troy, VA on 09/04/2014 – Verified Buyer
This tumbling insulated composter really cooks. I recommend it in spite of the price. Mine sits in the sun and works year-round. It's fast, and the finished compost is excellent. I use shredded oak leaves as the primary carbon source, and the only nitrogen comes from kitchen waste. The composter has enough room to easily handle the kitchen waste of our family of four. It could handle more, I think, maybe twice as much. In summer, the BSF larvae love the heat, and really crank up the decomposition. As a result, I haven't seen any other species of pest in or around it. The only complaint I might have is that the insulation in the door has shrunk enough with the heat that it sometimes is dislodged. It should probably have some aluminum straps or plastic fasteners to hold it to the door.

Great composter from Chuluota, FL on 01/05/2015 – Verified Buyer
I researched composers for a couple of years and finally decided on the Juraform Tumbler Composter. I got the Juraform last year for Christmas and have been happily making compost ever since. After a little coercion, my husband spent most of a day putting together the composter (it wasn't the easiest thing to assemble.) I went out and checked on the progress several times, but decided it was best if I just stayed away (he works best by himself.) The composter is well made and turns out great compost. Using a composter has a learning curve, but after a year I feel as though I'm pretty good at it. The only problem I've had (besides it being difficult to assemble) was that we've had an extremely rainy year and the compost was getting too wet. The solution was to add more wood pellets. That being said, you need to have wood pellets to make this composter work well. I did have trouble finding wood pellets and had to drive almost an hour to get some at a Tractor Supply in a different city. I bought 4 bags and have only used one bag in a years time. I add scraps to the composter practically every day. In one year, I have turned out nearly one and half bins of beautiful compost. The plants that I've planted using the compost have grown exceptionally well. I can't wait to get my square foot garden up and running (another Christmas present from last year) and to use my lovely compost.

Fast & Furious from Tulsa, OK on 09/04/2014 – Verified Buyer
Churns out the compost in record time. But be prepared for the assembly procedure!

Before using this we were lucky to make one good batch of compost a year. This monster churns it out in a matter of weeks. Well built and easy to use.

The assembly instructions are a little vague. Before you start search You Tube- there are some helpful videos that offer much more detail on putting it together.

Nice product from WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI on 10/13/2014 – Verified Buyer
This composter is easy to load, easy to turn, and creates nice compost with minimal effort.

The negatives are that you have to build it yourself, which is a 2-person project. Also, for the price you would expect them to include galvanized screws, but they do not, so the screws are already rusting after just 4 months' use.

Great Compost but Difficult to Assemble from West Fork, AR on 03/14/2015 – Verified Buyer
The composter is great. It's very effective and very well made. I'm working on my first batch of compost now. The assembly on the other hand was wretched. I've assembled a lot of items in my life and this was the hardest. My husband and I put it together and the insulation would not compress down enough to align the screws without using superhuman strength. I'm not sure if my item was faulty or not, because not every reviewer describes this problem. I would have preferred to pay more and have Jora send the barrel of the composter already assembled. Despite the assembly we're very happy to have the composter.

Wonderful Composter from gore, VA on 04/20/2014 – Verified Buyer
Easy to build. Built Ford tuff and critter resistant, maybe not bear proof but sure don't have worry about other critters!!! Love this thing. Forget the written directions. look at the pictures and set out the parts and begin the install. The written instructions will only confuse you to the point of stopping and drinking margarita's or beer and leaving the boxes for someone else to put together. After I just looked the parts and the pictures it all came together like an easy puzzle. Then I sat back and enjoyed my favorite beverage and a cigar!

Solid tumbling composter from Commerce City, CO on 06/22/2015 – Verified Buyer
This is an excellent well designed tumbling composter. Very pleased with the quality of the parts and ease of use. It's been composting away for several weeks now and no issues with odors or anything else except some nats on occasion. My only complaint would be the panels take a bit of effort to push down during assembly to get them screwed together but the finished product is worth the effort.

Pros: Insulated bins, attractive product.
Cons: Assembly takes a bit of effort.

It makes nice and hot compost. Instructions & design could use some improvement from Oakland, CA on 08/04/2015 – Verified Buyer
This composter was straightforward to put together for someone with some mechanical ability. The written directions were not as clear as they could be. The inner hard plastic parts should have been designed for a tighter seal. After several months usage, the compost gets nice and hot inside and the turning mechanism works well.

Pros: hot compost, good overall design
Cons: instructions need improvement, hard plastic parts should fit tighter to foam

Q. "Hi, can you tell me the difference between the 33 gal Joraform composter (sku XWF1000) and the 33 gal Joraform composter (sku XWF1006)" — Sharome
A. "Hi Sharome, the only difference between the 33 gal Joraform composter (sku XWF1000) and the 33 gal Joraform composter (sku XWF1006) is that XWF1006 is wall mounted and XWF1000 is free standing. The wall mounted tumbler, when not mounted, is basically on the ground because it does not have the standing legs like the other one."
