I tested this product myself to make sure that it would hold my father. It is a little wide, thus making the person using it sometimes push out instead of up. It would be nice if they added extra holes to it so that it could be adjusted to various situations (widths). Regrettably, my father passed away three weeks after I installed it for him.....so he only got to use it a few times.

This is a great product because you don't have to drill into your toilet enamel to install it. It's freestanding and works perfectly.

I bought the support for my wife, who is handicapped and obese. The support did all that it said it would. I had to make one minor adjustment to one of the stablizer bars as it was a tripping hazard. So I cut about 4 inches off the end and recapped it and put the pad back on the shortened piece and that did the trick without weakening its stability.
I would buy this item again.

To help lower and get me up off the toilet.
NEEDS MORE "COMPREHENSIVE" INSTRUCTIONS

The product claims it is "universal", but it is really meant for older smaller toilets. Many of the newer toilets have a wider / deeper base so I had to drill new holes about 2" further than the original holes in the footing of this product to compensate. Also, the instructions are not super comprehensive and it is difficult to figure out which part is intended for the front vs. back of the toilet. Lastly, the length of the screws are such that they stick out and unless there is a rubber cap on the ends, they will scratch if you rub against them. For tight areas, I would forget the screws that came with the unit and find your own suitable replacement that can be tightended using a box wrench because the philips head on the screw is tough to work with.
