Jansport Merit Backpack - TVL8

For months I searched for a backpack to replace the one I had that was falling apart. I needed one that was big enough to hold my laptop with adequate room to allow me to carry other necessities for my weekend trips. When I came across this one online, I knew it the one for me. While most backpacks are around 2000 cu in, this one is 2700 cu in, which is more than 30% bigger. Factor in that the price can't be beat and you end up with one satisfied customer!! I just wanted a backpack to take to work that would fit my laptop and a bunch of other things besides (books, papers, iPod, etc), and not be ugly or too student-y looking (I'm a professor). I also wanted a backpack big enough to use when traveling (to fit clothes/toiletries) and very lightweight. This model fits the bill on all fronts. It's plain black and discreet-looking, not too sporty, so it looks professional enough. It's definitely light, it fits my laptop with room to spare, it's got several other handy pockets/compartments, and as far as I can tell seems well-made and likely to last a while. I'm happy with this purchase.

The zippers of the two front pockets start from the bottom side. It needs ones full attention to assure that they are fully closed and not leave an open gap in the zippers, otherwise the contents may leak out from the side. I think it needs to be improved, maybe just make the zippers open up in the top part of the pockets only.
