This is THE Chair,
Barbara from Roswell, GA – Verified Buyer
My quest has been to find chairs that are comfortable and easy to use by the members of our household who have mobility issues. My garage is full of chairs I have bought hoping they would not topple, shift or roll away when my elderly Mother or my husband who has PD go to sit down. The chairs arrived flat packed but intact. Assembly was not difficult since, by now, a hex is my go-to tool and can be accomplished by one person. The finish is vinyl, sturdy and handsome. Best of all, the chairs are perfect for all members of the family. Family members can seat themselves, scoot themselves into the table and push themselves away from the table without danger. That is all that matters. The price and the look are just the cherry on top. I intend to buy a few more!

I think this is a very comfortable chair. Assembly, however, was a challenge. It took me quite awhile to master putting the screws in place. By holding the chair in an awkward position such that the screws were in a vertical position (pointing down, not up) was the only way I could get the screws to turn. It was strange that I could not get them to turn if the screws were held even slightly horizontal. Therefore, you could not place the chair on the floor, you had to hold it awkwardly on your lap. I think with a second person holding the chair would have made it easier to assemble. But I am glad to have 4 of these chairs.
Good Quality, Interesting Assembly . . .

This Rockwood Arm Chair is definitely a solid option at this particular price point. When assembled, the chair sits level, has a solid quality construction feel, and the caster wheels are excellent both in design and function. However, getting to that properly assembled state can be interesting. When our package arrived, there was a very large orange colored label on the side which stated "2015 model", indicating the newest revision. Rest assured, when assembled the chair still does have an identical appearance to the photos shown. The included instructions are useful for determining which length allen headed bolt is to be used with the front legs versus which length bolt should be used with the rear legs. Otherwise, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I noticed early on, that the pieces in my kit which were labeled as "RH" were actually LEFT HAND pieces. And, subsequently, the "LH" labeled pieces were actually RIGHT HAND items. The wooden bars which connect the front legs to the back legs have a 3/8" diameter round peg shaped tab at one end, and a 3/8" by 3/4" slotted shaped tab at the opposite location. Out of the box, these two bars are pre-assembled with a horizontal crossbar which is held in place with pre-tightened screws, and the assembled shape resembles a letter "A" without the point at the top. In order for the appropriate tab style to align with the corresponding cut out hole in each leg, I had to remove the screws, gently "knock" apart the pieces, and re-assemble in the opposite way. The polyurethane simulated leather does have a noticed chemical odor initially (similar to a cheap Halloween costume). Overall, this is a nice chair at a thrifty price point, but the assembly process could be refined and improved for a better experience. GOOD LUCK!!!
Better than expected!

I was a little wary, ordering 6 chairs off the internet that I wasn't able to personally inspect and sit in myself. I wanted chairs for my large kitchen table that were inviting to sit in, comfortable for our marathon card games, easy to clean, and on wheels! It took me four months to decide to order these chairs, but I finally did it, and I have to say they turned out better than I expected. The seat is comfortable with a fairly heavy duty spring that seems like it should hold up for quite a while. The padding on the back and arms, and just the overall design of the chair is quite comfortable. The wheels roll very easily on my stained concrete floors and don't leave any marks. Would have given this product 5 stars if the assembly had gone smoother. Luckily, my husband is an excellent handyman. We had several issues and not the same issues with each chair: a wooden peg missing, a wooden peg broken, cross bar on bottom has tabs to screw to the side bars and on a couple of the cross bars the tabs were on the wrong side, took some brute strength to get everything to line up correctly when attaching the arm pieces to the base, and one of the chair's wood split as we were tightening the screws so we had to use a lot of wood glue and clamps (husband says it was due to the grain of the wood in that spot) but so far it's held up well. I could not have assembled these chairs myself. Hopefully, in a few months, the memory of the assembly will wear off and we'll just be enjoying our really nice chairs. Also, due to a PayPal issue, I had to deal with Wayfair and their customer service is EXCELLENT! I will definitely not hesitate to order from them in the future!
Quality and Comfort

Love these chairs. We were looking for 4 chairs with castors for our round breakfast room table. They are so comfortable and everyone comments on that and how great they look. We do have wood floors and found that we needed a thick rug (we chose a braided rug) under them to protect the wood floors. They roll easily on the large round rug and the floor shows no damage from the rollers.
STRONG COMFORTABLE CHAIR
Marjorie from Alberta, Canada – Verified Buyer
The Rockwood Arm Chairs we find to be strong, comfortable and a visibly nice addition to our dining table. The search for chairs with castors for carpet area, from the reviews, convinced us that we had found the ideal pieces. After assembly, our findings proved to be disappointing. The two chairs ordered came from different locations but in due time as promised. Service and delivery concerns were handled immediately. Great and friendly service. Assembly of each chair was fairly easy with two people. Proud of our purchase and assembly. The function of the castors on carpet was very concerning. A body's weight in the chair and it was nearly impossible to move to or from the table. The ball-type castors would not function on the carpet. What to do now? A visit to a local castor retailer indicated that we needed different castors to roll on carpet...the replacement castors costing nearly the amount of one chair. This solved the problem. What a big difference, and for someone with mobility issues, it was a necessity. The first chair received, on opening the box, we were hit with with a mildew /musty stench. The chair sits on the porch in nice weather to try to rid of the smell. Have even tried Fabreze on under side of the seat. The second chair does not have this smell...originally only the vinyl smell for a short time. The cost to return the product from Canada to US would have been high. Now that 'we can roll' we like the chairs a lot and now this whole package with new castors are exactly what we were looking for. When assembling the second chair, received a week later, this item had obviously been a return as a dowel was broken off in a hole joining the back and a leg. No major problem as my handyman was able to drill the hole and replace the dowel. If the manufacturer changed the castor from 'ball type to non-marking wheel type' this chair would be excellent for use on carpet. We have been complimented on our new chairs and could easily accommodate two more but the cost to restore each chair with the necessary castors makes the cost of each chair very high.
Nice looking chair

If you separate the parts it is very easy to put together. From previous posts I will be watching for the loosening of the screws. We forgot the tips about adding glue as we assembled the legs. Very sturdy chair.

I purchased 6 chairs, they were packed well and of very good quality. The assembly was not that difficult.

Somewhere I read that all you have to do it put in the castors, but that's not true. We had to have someone put them together for us as we are older and can't do much these days. The chairs are attractive and very comfortable. We are pleased with them. I haven't found very many chairs on the internet that have castors and these roll around easily. The vinyl upholstery is good for dining, too.

Wanted easy chairs in the kitchen that I can move out the way easily because I use a power wheelchair. These were easy to assemble and roll very smoothly and look nice. Would highly recommend.
